DID YOU KNOW THAT Temptations INCREASED THEIR PRICE 30%!!!

We bought into it last year and we just made reservations for 2014/ they quoted us a price and it is far more than we paid last year...So we questioned it....the price went up 30% since last year...if it is going to continue to go up we will find other places to visit. I guess they want us
to pay for their over due renovations!!!

Just wanted everyone to know what is happening at TTR.

Do you mean your all inclusive fees went up? Or just calling the hotel and asking for regular rates? When in 2014 did you make your reservations for?

Just so folks know... the Mexican Government recently raised their tax rate from somewhere around 10 -12% to 16% on hotel nights.

This has caused some of the hotels locally to complain that their low season rates now match their high season rates from last year.

So you may find that if you try to look for other hotels their rates will probably be higher too.

Also I notices that Alpharooms seemed to be in the same ballpark as last year for their May rates when I looked last week.

are premier members spared from the hikes or do they always get a percentage off of the current rates? Just wondering if future price increases are capped.

Member rates are contract based. As I understand it, most are a base nightly rate + an AI fee that varies by year and season (low/high). The AI fee allows them to ratchet up cost on members too. Taxes would stack on top of that.

Hello people! I still say let the resort know! CCC is a BIG group of repeaters! Email them, or when you check out, fill out the comment card and let them know how pissed we are about the $$$$$. It's not enough for us to complain about it on here.

Our contract is only 6 months old and we just found out yesterday that our all inclusive rate is going from $31 a day to $60.02 in 2014, thats almost doubled.

Not quite yet, it's still under discussion but likely to be approved mid November.

Quintana Roo has always been designated as a 'Frontera' (Border) State which means the sales tax is 5% less (11% compared to 16%) than other non Frontera States in Mexico. It's likely to lose the Frontera designation so prices for everything will increase by 5%. Like anywhere, merchants will often use the opportunity to increase their prices by more than what the basic increase is.

Everything you buy with a few exceptions will be at least 5% more expensive if /when this goes through.
