(Diana) Interesting thread. I like to wear Sexy Dresses at Temptation; most are fairly modest (as far as TTR standards go...) but I've worn some extreme mini-dresses with cutouts, even to the Italian restaurant, and no one said anything. I'm pretty certain that the staff isn't going to say anything to a woman, providing they're not attempting to get in topless, or in their Lingerie! :p
As far as guys' attire, I don't really have an opinion. I think the dress code states "no athletic wear".... Matt usually dresses up with nice jeans & a collared t-shirt (golf shirt/polo shirt). Again, we have never been refused at any of the restaurants. They maintain quite the relaxed atmosphere at TTR, as long as you're respectful to everyone, and that's one of the reasons why we love it!

i know wearing levis wouldnt be an option for me tooooo hot!! but for guys linen pants, and yes dressy shorts are fine. but just t-shirts and board shorts, well i wouldnt have phil dress like that. go to the buffet and dress casual. or a non resv. place. but if someone went to dinner wearing casual stuff it wouldnt bother me in the least. i just dont really care what other people do.

we have seen it all...pants, jeans, shorts and flip flops. I would like it if the guys tried to dress up a little and keep with the themes a lil bit

For the guys golf pants are a nice looking option that breathe and won't feel too warm. My only hold up for the nicer clothes are long sleeve shirts. I plan on wearing button down light weight short sleeved shirts

Dress codes are the only way I am gonna get to see my hubby dressed up! LOL. It's as much about getting to be someone else as the other things that fly for me. LOL

FYI: There is no longer a dress code at any restaurant

1 requirement - Men must have sleeves on there shirts - no tank tops.

    Shorts - OK
    Sandals/flip flops - OK
    T-Shirts - OK
    Jeans - OK

Info is from a restaurant manager - we were enjoying a nice lobster dinner on our last night and asked this question to the manager as a young gentlemen came in wearing a SWAG SWAG SWAG SWAG t-shirt, flip-slops & shorts and was promptly seated.

In our opinion, the dress code is there for a reason. There are only a few restaurants that require you to dress nice and several that don't. If you don't wish to follow the dress code, go to a restaurant that doesn't have one. Will it ruin my dinner if people decide not to follow the dress code and are admitted? Absolutely not. It merely exposes the value that the person puts on themselves and their appearance and will be used in part as we formulate our opinion of that person. I prefer to dress nicely when I go to one of the reservation restaurants. My wife (IMHO) is worthy of dining with royalty and for me to show up at the restaurant in a Tshirt and flip flops would be a disservice to her.

In Texas we dress up for dinner and we take off our hats when we sit down to eat. It's a sign of respect to those with whom we are dining that we appreciate their company and value their friendship.
