After reading Jen and Kyle's most-excellent trip report over the past few days, I got to thinking about something. There was mention that the group unanimously chose to skip the island stop on the Boobs Cruise, and continue the party on the boat. I'm wondering if this will be an option given to future cruises? I have to say, I did not enjoy the island. The choices of overpriced junk at tourist traps, or sitting in a bar is, to me, far less appealing than enjoying the sights and sounds present aboard the boat. Not to mention the hassle of getting everyone dressed again! I'm sure this island stop is there for a reason (cost of alcohol aboard?, or to sober people up?) and I don't pretend to understand all the nuances of putting on such a spectacular cruise, but I'll give my honest feedback and say that, I'd love our cruise to also have that choice, to skip the island stop. It seems like between lunch, and the island stop, that every time the party gets hopping, it's time for a stop. None of this is to take anything away from what is undoubtedly the best day of my life each year!
I actually like the island bar myself. But if they combined the two stops at the bar in town I'd be cool with that too. A little break from the boat is nice
There isn't a reason why we must do the downtown stop at the island, and the last two trips we have skipped it. We took an informal poll on the boat and the majority (everyone I think) voted to give it a miss and carry on the party, so we did. The main reason we usually make the stop is that it is listed on the itinerary and if we promise we are doing something then I think it only fair that we do it (unless everyone agrees not to). There are some people that enjoy the downtown stop and come prepared to buy their souvenirs etc so it would be wrong to not offer that opportunity if they were expecting it. In the past we have had a lot of fun at the beachside bar we visit that had a great live band. The live band aren't playing at the moment though so there is probably less reason to make the stop currently. Sometimes, if the weather is not ideal, then some extra time off the boat can be a welcome break for many. Sometimes we have a quieter crowd and having a break and then coming back to the boat can help to get the party started again. However, there is no reason why we cant take it off the scheduled itinerary and maybe make the stop if it's considered the right thing to do on the day. I have made a poll, we'll see how the opinions pan out, and make changes if the majority want it. Please vote here: http://www.cancuncare.com/forum/tem...8189-boobs-cruise-poll-downtown-stop-not.html
Thanks Steve. Awesome that you are always listening and considering feedback, good and bad. You rock! And, my vote has been cast!
