I have read that Grand Oasis Viva will have a concept somewhat like TTR, beginning the first of the year. Heard they are going to combine with their sister resort next door. This will be interesting. Careful with your pricing TTR there looks like some competition in town... TTR better hope they don't hire Steve and Chino !!!!!!!
I'll add in a rumour of my own since it's already been mentioned a few times by other people and has now become part of the Premier sales talk. I don't like to be the first to mention these things I heard some months back that the hotel have plans to expand considerably, they are constrained expanding outwards but instead will expand upwards. On a phased scale some rooms will be taken out of service and new blocks built in their place that are a few storeys higher. Of course, this will mean reduced capacity for a while and could be the reason for higher prices in 2014. It follows that with increased capacity and more people then there's extra pressure on bars, restaurants and pool space so will be interesting to see what happens there. Until the hotel announce something though we should just regard this as a rumor and nothing more. Regarding prices being higher next year and people deserting and going elsewhere. Well, this forum has been going for 11 years and it is mentioned every year. A mass exodus hasn't happened yet - although I'd be interested to hear more on the Oasis story if anyone has any links or comes across some in future.
''Some'' booking sites do not show the option for Jaccuzi rooms for April,, might be where their starting, //?? Just an observation . As happened in Cabo, TTR , they keep it quiet so people will keep booking through construction, and don't lose revenue. We can always book an extra cruise to get away from the construction.

Thanks for the info guys. Remember though 'Adults only' doesn't necessarily mean Temptation style. There are lots of adults only resorts already, and most of them are as boring as hell. Doesn't really suggest to me they will be any different to the others, and poor copy writing suggests you'll need to leave the hotel if you are looking for any kind of fun! When they start talking 'topless', 'sensual', 'sexy' then I'll be interested
I think I am gonna book of the usual 12-26th off work. I have to put it in by next week so I have to make a choice. 12-26th means I don't work a Saturday for 6 weeks and two less holiday days cause of a WW day and the Stat. Just hope the hell the prices come down after Christmas. If noone books their outrageous prices then they will come down. We will have lots of airmiles so it really just means using more which my little air mile king will have to work harder for the next trip. Donald you can't go that early, wouldn't get to se oyu and Bonnie much then. It does seem to get cheaper after the 17th. We are staying away from May, a few people that go then that piss me right off at the sight of them.
Hey Steve, when we left in September they were redoing a bunch of rooms by Patio's. Once all the people on our floor check out they totally took the doors off and everything out of the rooms and we're cleaning, painting, and doing major renos. I am thinking just by looking around the resort that it is time for them to do some major renos both to rooms and tile work, outsides of buildings. I think they are just being unrealistic in what they can get for their resort. I don't think it's a 300.00/night hotel. It will definitely affect Glenn and I going two or three times a year. We do want to go in April but September might be out if force to pay those prices.
