This is sooooooo my honey and I!! I get hangovers that make me NEVER WANT TO DRINK but I swear I'm printing these out and getting all of them. Just at home after a game night I am stuck in bed all day.... I refuse to let that happen here on vacation THANKS FOR THE TIPS ALL! :lurking:
I also use alka seltzer and drink water throughout the night. A couple of years ago Rob (reddog68) brought these pills he picked up on line and swore by them. I used the a couple of nights and felt fine the next morning. Maybe pm him and find out what they are called. I know I will be hitting him up again this year for a few of them.
To be fair, I've never had a bad hangover at TTR. If I drink at home, I'm useless the next day and can barely get off the couch, but never had that at TTR. I'm up and ready to go at 10am the next day! Usually start each day off with a load of water and fruit juices at the breakfast. Some days I don't feel like eating, but I always manage to force a few non-alcoholic drinks down me. Then, if I feel like drinking again, I'll start about 2pm and carry on until they close the bar down at the end of the day, pacing it to maybe 1 or 2 drinks an hour, with a long break between 4pm and 8pm when we usually go for afternoon nap and then dinner. I think for me it helps that the drinking is paced across the day, not just slamming it in the evening. I'd say not drinking heavily every day is a good idea too. I drink enough to feel merry, but then I'm having so much fun I don't feel the need to have any more. That said, there's always 1 or 2 days each trip that I don't pace it that well and end up giddy and drunk off my ass! The next day after one of 'those nights' I just sleep in a bit longer and still make it out to the pool by 12! 3am Paty O burgers help big time too. They soak up the remaining alcohol before bed.
Herre's what works for me - I never drink shots, but do change drinks every hour or so from beer to rum, tequila and whiskey mixers. I don't drink water while I'm out, but do before bed. In the morning after six hours of sleep, it's black coffee, 3 Excedrine Migraine and a 45 minute run on the beach. By 9 or 10 AM, I'm as good as new. This may make no scientific sense whatsoever, but I've never taken a nap in my life...especially on vacation.
Drink 2 big glasses of water and take 2 advil before bed and you should be good. As mentioned its the dehydration that does it. If you are too drunk to remember the water and wake up feeling like you were hit by a bus, I swear by the green drink they have at the breakfast buffet, its a cure for all that ails...
My main problem is pacing myself so that's going to be my only one responsiblity on this trip- to try and do 1-2 drinks an hour..... I feel like I'm a little better if I drink beer opposed to liquor! I feel like my hangovers are a little less headbanging than the ones at home too! I just am REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY hoping I'm not down and out any day on vaca
The only sure fire way to not get a hangover is staying drunk the entire time! Really the only method that helps us is drinking a bottle of water and eating before bed.
The resort has the best hangover juice "The Green juice" in the breakfast buffet. Drink tons of it in the morning you will never get a hangover. Water and Patio burger before bed too.
