Hello my American friends! I need help please, we need to buy a plug adaptor that will fit in the flat 2 prong sockets in Mexico, but are a little confused. The ones that look correct say they are suitable for America, so my question is, are American and Mexican plugs the same? Or do I need to buy something different?
    Thanks in advance!

I think that holds true for the carribean as well. Heck as far as I know when it comes to adapters if it fits it works. But I'm certainly no electrician so take that with a grain of salt lol!

Yes, the adaptors over here that say America are ok for Mexico. Just remember though the power is different, so anything like a hair dryer that needs a lot of power won't work! Only works for things like phone chargers / laptop etc.

Thanks Trish, have ordered some from e-bay. And you've seen my hair - I don't have much need for a hair dryer or straighteners!

Just be aware that over here we run in 110 volts, as compared to your 220. Some items you have may be happy with either, but check them as some may only be happy with 220.
