I know there has been a few other threads about the recent weather in Cancun, but I was watching The Weather Channel this morning and it's not looking good National and Local Weather Forecast, Hurricane, Radar and Report Should we be worried?? And I wonder if all of this will be out of there by the time we arrive on the 30th?!?
Storm should be gone by then. We arrive the 27th.If we do get rain we will dance in the rain . Look forward to meeting and drinking with the two of you. And stop worring come down and enjoy
You may get wet...but as far as serious, dangerous weather threatening your stay, it doesn't appear you should be worried about that. Booking this time of year, you've almost got to expect rain and be pleasantly surprised by the sun. I was ready and looking forward to booking September or October...but Jamie couldn't get off work. A week would have been $900 each including airfare...worth it even if it does rain. You'll have an amazing time - go and have fun!!
We went last year mid September and it did rain for a couple of days, nothing too serious though, but the Weather Channel was showing that it could get bad down there so I was a little concerned...
I am trying hard not to worry about something I have no control over. Tonight I'm going to sacrifice a goat and pray to the sun god.... you know how hard it is to find a live goat when you live in the inner city? Fine, I'll just hope the storm is gone by the 28th, sooner for all the folks heading there sooner.
Weather today from Stevesbackyard.com is a little windy with frequent short lived showers. We are a a few miles inland so its probably windier at TTR right on the coast but nowhere near Tropical Storm status. Maximum wind speed is reported at 30mph. Remember this is a US news report, they are not concerned about weather in Cancun right now or the next few days but rather how the weather system currently in Cancun will affect the US since these systems always move North. They mention 80% chance of developing into a hurricane within the next 5 days. The worst of the system will be out of the Cancun area in the next 24 hrs, so even if it does develop into a hurricane later it's not going to have any impact here. Those in Northern Mexico, Texas and Louisiana might want to follow this one closely though. If you're not flying out for 12 days this system will be long gone, although at this time of year there could be another one right behind it.
At least if it rains, its foreign rain and u may aswell get ur ass in the pool and drink!! Last time we had a woman come and ask could she take our photo as she wanted to remember the people she had met.... we eere in the quiet pool during a torrent of rain... she snapped away and took our photo then realised she had took it on ours and didn't even have a camera with her!!!
