Looking for a nice place to go for Sandys Birthday during our stay in Sept..I recall a steak house across from TTR but have never been to it..anyone know if it's still there or can anyone suggest a place? Thanks!
It is Rio Churrascaria and I am pretty sure it is closed. I haven't seen it open in months. Cancun has some really great restaurants to choose from. I really love La Habichuela La Habichuela Sunset | La Habichuela Restaurants, Cancun, Mexico For steak houses, I hear that Harry's is very good (steak & seafood) or Puerto Madero, however they are expensive.
Folks were just talking about this a week ago: http://www.cancuncare.com/forum/temptation-resort-cancun/27770-off-site-restaurant-suggestions.html
There is that pirate boat dinner, but I forget what it is called, everyone raved about it when we were there last year, but we did not attend it. Looking forward to it this year for sure.
Went to La Habichuela Sunset last trip. It's really nice, great service, fantastic food, but it's a bit pricey. The other restaurant is apparently cheaper because it's not hotel zone. Plus I'm sure the restaurant across the road has now closed. It was last November/December. Damn shame, it was a nice place to get away from TTR for a while without having to get a bus or taxi.
You probably mean the Captain Hook Dinner Cruise. Captain Hook Pirate Ship - Cancun, Mexico There is another pirate cruise, but Capt Hook is the main one.
Wonderful Food! Last month, we took the bus into town on two occasions. Lorenzillo's was a great seafood restaurant. I had King Crab Legs, which were absolutely fantastic. John had the Coconut Shrimp platter and said it was the best meal he had in five years! He also got a chocolate dessert that I didn't even taste because I was so darn full. Everything was great and we were very pleased with the service as well. They treated us like kings. We then went to La Madonna's, which was an Italian restaurant in the huge shopping center (where Louis Vuitton, Polo, Michael Kors, etc was). This was the best meal I have had in ages! It was definitely my favorite meal of the trip. For appetizer, I got the Crab Cakes and with the first bite, I believed I had died and gone to Heaven! SOOO good!!! I had the Balsamic Glazed Pesto Salmon for dinner which was so indescribable, my mouth still waters when I think of it. Several others got the NY Strip and they all loved it, and someone got the Chicken Alfredo and said it was amazing, too. If I ever return, I will make a point to go back to these restaurants. We were all so pleased! I definitely recommend them both! Sarah
We liked Sea & Stones right on the beach at the Westin Resort & Spa Cancun. It's at the bottom of the 7, but it's a helluva romantic setting.
