Thanks so much for the update Stew .... 4 weeks from today we land :daveandmo::daveandmo::headbanger::birthday:
I think if Premier Members get additional perks in return for their investment - that's great. I'm happy with what TTR offers non-members and have an awesome time every time. The only issue some of of us have is when it appears that the resort "robs Peter to pay Paul". TTR is not a large property - there's only so much room available to divide space between standard guests and Premier without taking too much away.
with any luck, they'll add some sort of a storage compartment for those people who cant get a chair, to store there stuff in. Hell 12"x12" compartments of wooden shelving would certainly be an improvement.
It's segregation. Never works out - everyone wants to hang out together, so the premier areas end up mostly empty, the 'coat room' for bags and towels! Sooner TTR realise this the better. Give premier the perks they should get, i.e. better rooms, better rate, first dibs at restaurant reservations, better drinks, meals etc. Partitioned off areas isn't going to work, it's just a waste. I'm pretty sure any premier members on here will agree with me that we all want to socialise together. I've seen premier members go up to the premier jacuzzi bit, then come back down half an hour later because frankly, it's a bit boring without all us regular folk too. I get the feeling TTR are thinking that the 'premier area' is equivalent to a VIP section in a club i.e. exclusive whereby everyone who's anyone is clamouring to get in to be with the VIPs. Thing is, a lot more people can commit to stumping a price for a VIP area of a club every now and again, so it's more popular, so more people in there. Committing to premier isn't as easy, hence the 'exclusive' areas aren't as popular or in demand at TTR.
Well said Trish - the way in which they have this set-up as for the private area upstairs ... premier members miss out on all the action down by the sexy pool or in it - let's face it that's where the party is. I'm pretty sure the person who pitched/designed this was not having the best brainstorming session - big FAIL!!! :banghead: LOL!!
Crossing fingers that the bulk of the patyo's re-work is completed by the time we get there on Aug. 21!
Its only our second trip coming up and I'm also with premier members getting perks. They pay a lot to be members. But the segregation doesn't work, we noticed the beach area was empty almost the entire time. Funny too I felt like a Priceline customer when I was in a lounge chair beside an empty area I couldn't sit in. Let them have the better booze after about 15 I can't tell the difference and I'm feeling pretty premier myself.
Seemed to be completed. The new flooring is really nice. I just got back from TTR Saturday, and Kev and I are working on our trip report One other thing I noticed about Pattyos that I never noticed before is that they set up a mini buffet at times during the day and around dinner time. Small selection but perfect little snacks to have and take back to your room while getting ready for dinner, etc. Except for the pool bar being closed for 3 days (which really killed the vibe in the sexy pool) everything about this trip was quite exceptional. For those about to go, you're in for a great time!
