Greetings from TTR, fellow CCC peeps - haven't really seen it written about much on here, but there's a ton of construction stuff going on. Haven't seen this level of activity ever. Thought I'd write an update for the gang on CCC since I'm sitting here at Paty-O's enjoying my coffee and catching up on things with my iPad.

While not new construction, the "Diegos" pool bar has been closed all this week as they were putting a new roof on it - looking like they are done with that and they might be opening it for this weekend, which would be great. Pretty damn fascinating process to watch - the men in the crowd who are home-improvement inclined (like me) enjoyed it.

The biggest new addition is a huge new "Premier" sundeck being built along the wall that separates the sexy pool from the beach area. As a guy that has built some decks in his life, I've really enjoyed watching these guys do this - it's huge - probably 75 feet long (basically stretches from the stairs to the beach by the pool bar all the way to the stairs to the beach by the volleyball court) by about 12-15 feet wide, is made out of a beautiful tropical wood that I can't seem to identify, has lighting on it, etc. Very cool piece of craftsmanship. I want to hire these guys to build my next deck! It incluces a new bar with a palapa - presumably the new Premier member bar.

Elsewhere around the resort there are dozens of workmen going to town on the whole place - painting, replacing concrete, repairing walls, etc.

On the "soft" side, they seem to have changed the seafood restaurant "Bellavista" from a reservation-only restaurant to being a walk-in restaurant. Same menu.

A few negative things, and we're not sure if it is because of all the contruction or what, but there hasn't been an outdoor pool deck luncheon served in the last two weeks (from stories we could piece together from folks that were here for the last two weeks), the outdoor dinner for Bali Hai night was cancelled last week, and a few other negatives, such as they didn't do the judging on Karaoke night.

But as always, it's the people that make us keep coming here, and the crowd is as awesome as ever. Tons of amazing people that we've met new, lots more repeaters that we've known before and gotten to know better. There really is no place like this place.

    Stew

Wow. Re the new Premier decking; does this mean the pool chairs for us regular guests in that area are no more? Or is this an additional area? There are few enough spaces for non-premier as it is!

My question too...are there still 'regular people' seats in front of the new premier deck? If so this isnt a bad thing as it just adds more seating. But if it is to replace regular seats then not good. How close are they to done?

Sounds like they are taking advantage of their slowest time and making things better overall which everyone can appreciate. Cant wait to see it all in October! If you happen to see someone in charge supervising the activities be sure to ask them where they are putting the new jacuzzi!!!! :) And if he says no new jacuzzi then slap him and ask him what is wrong with him. :)

I heard that the new premier deck is ONLY over the beach... So I'm guessing they are removing the ropes that prevent you from drunken falling down onto the beach lol

Exactly how is that going to work?, seeing most members have non-member friends and vis versa and want to sit together, they may end up being empty all day or being used as towel racks.

\Still nice to have the extra capacity

Yeah and re how it will work, will they let non premier sit right in front of the premier deck? I kind of doubt it but hopefully. Will there be a rope separating the two so they can see who is premier vs not? All good as long as they dont decrease non premier capacity. We are trying out a premier referral in October so look forward to trying out the deck but not if it separates us from others and the party. Will be interesting to see how this works out.
