Question for anyone who's been to Temptation resort.

The water in this part of Mexico is safe. No worries!!

 

The resort has a water purification system. I drink about a gallon of water every day out of the sink in the room. Away from the hotel, I'd be more careful.

 

Wouldn't that dilute the alcohol?

 

I find that it dillutes the alcohol just enough that I can roll out of bed by 7 each morning without wishing I were dead. I refuse to waste any more time at TTR with my eyes closed than I have to.

I love salads and fresh tropical fruit on vacation, but others have suggested against this. I ate a salad three times a day in Jamaica just because I loved the fresh Mango Vinaigrette dressing! Should I not do this in Cancun? I have been told to avoid all salads and fresh fruit because of the stomach issues I will have afterwards. Is this a problem at Temptation?

 

I eat anything and everything at TTR. People sometimes get sick from food they bought at their local grocery store at home. I don't alter what I eat just because I'm on vacation. I'm not sure I could keep up with worrying about all the remote possibilities of bad things that could conceivably happen on vacation. I eat the food and drink the water and have faith in the Mexican health and safety regulations that are in place to keep the enormous volume of travelers safe. I think they're just as good as what we have back home.

 

My breakfast included a big plate of fresh fruit every day and I had no problems at all. The papaya was fantastic.

As for water, I generally drink bottled water when on vacation because it's easier to refrigerate. We requested that housekeeping keep us supplied with it and they were great. We had 5 big bottles every day and stayed well hydrated.

 

We ate salad and/or fruit every day in April/may and didn't have issues.

This and the other posts give me an idea. In October I am going to tell the single gangs to get their cameras. Then Jen and I will walk around naked eating a salad and drinking a cup of pool water. It will be interesting to see what the repercussions are.
