This picture is probably buried somewhere in this thread, but this is my progress pic from last trip.. On the left was me on a Boobs Cruise Sept 2012.. On the right was kilt night of April 2013.. I'm guessing i'll probably look pretty similar this September... Not down any pounds, but probably down some fat..

EDIT: Partydollgirl... I do somewhat agree with what you say... 80% of weight loss is in the kitchen... But if you don't do any exercise, you don't build muscle.. Building muscle helps to burn fat and tighten the skin during the weight loss..

And while it works for you, the only eat when your hungry can be dangerous for some people as its constantly putting your body in/out of starvation mode. Eating 6-7 meals a day, 3 hours apart has been shown to work better. Even if the meal is just a 100 calorie protein shake.

I think that if people start listening to there body and can control the amount of what they eat to maintain a feeling of not being overly hungry they end up eating 6 or 7 times a day and lose weight at a normal rate.. Its all a balance and as individual as anything can possibly be. these easy made diets that tell you what and when to eat and how long to exercise just sets up most everyone on them to fail.. they work and work fast but its impossible to maintain it.. and it messes up your head that oh they say, you can lose 2 to 3 pounds a week. .. Sure while paying them hundreds of dollars a week.. then one day you cant afford the plan. you have no choice but to go back to eating on your own.. and presto.. the weight you have lost is back. but really, my point is..learn to eat smart and clean, think of it as fuel not rewards. eat only when you need to.. and exercise to feel good not to the point of being exausted and all of your good intentions fly out the window! ;)

The key message I’ve taken from the exercise/diet debate is to not go overboard on either; relying on exercise to lose weight is never going to work, but neither is concentrating solely on the diet. It’s easier to diet when not exercising, but for me personally, the short-term gains I got from concentrating on just diet alone didn’t pay off in the long run. I regret taking that route and I’m still paying for it years later with rubbish fitness levels. By just dieting and doing no exercise I lost quite a bit of weight, but I also lost what little muscle definition I had and even though I was slimmer, I felt that my overall health worsened.

I’m certain that regular exercise heals the body. For me, it feels like a sort of natural medicine - a defence against the onslaught of problems awaiting me because of my weight. It’s frustrating because I do slip up more on the diet when I’m exercising, so progress is a lot slower than just cutting calories alone. However, I feel healthier in myself than I did when I was dieting without the exercise. My weight is currently (stubbornly) staying fairly even, but I’ve noticed some personal health issues disappear since I started exercising regularly. That didn’t happen when I was just dieting alone. I can’t prove it’s the exercise that’s helped, but I haven’t changed anything else so a logic conclusion says it’s the exercise.

Keeping active doesn’t mean slaving away for hours on end in the gym, but getting moving in one way or another at least 4 times a week is definitely something I intend to keep up with. I prefer the gym and swimming because I can get them over with early in the morning before my day starts, meaning I don’t have to change my schedule all that much to fit exercise in. I’m not obsessive about it, and if I miss a few sessions to get a sleep in, I don’t beat myself up about it. I can see the benefits of regular exercise, and for me, it outweighs the frustration of the slower weight loss. I’ve resigned myself to the fact I still may look like a whale on my next trip to TTR, but I guess I’m ok with that because in the bigger picture I’m healthier than I have been in years. I can live with how I look as long as I’m going in the right direction, regardless of how long it’s taking.

your doing great, I in no way meant do not exercise..I meant do it to feel good and healthy but the hour every day 7 days a week do not make you lose weight faster..

all of this is just my experience anyways, Im certainly no expert. Im the one that constantly has to lose that last 10 lbs..its not an easy thing..haha! patience and the diet is more important than ever at this point.. so with that said.. thats my story this week and Im sticken to it.. haha!

Well this morning I took the plung and started the 30 day shred video! I was getting tired of just walking 4 miles on the treadmill every day. I'm gonna alternate between the two!

I'm will you all with eating and exercising during the week and hen killing it on the weekend with hanging with friends and drinking. I need to put a limit on how much I drink on the weekend.
