12:45? I'm jealous! We don't get in until 2:10. That was the earliest flight that we could find. Direct flights from St. Louis are few and far between. I guess you guys will have to get the party started without us, but we are going to haul ass from the airport to get there ASAP! ;-)
We were looking at a flight that would land at 10:20 in the morning which would have us there by noon to start the party. I checked yesterday and they pulled the flight. Frustrating! Now they have one that lands at 11:40 but its $150 a ticket more.
Have you looked at flying SW/Air Tran out of Love? They have a flight from Love that does stop in San Antonio that start at $179. In SA you switch from SW to Air Tran then direct to CUN. We are trying to line up grandparents to watch the kids for Oct 3-9 or 4-10 depending on schedules and will be flying the SW/Air Tran route. Hopefully we can join the group. We've been to TTR before and during the change from BBG so it will be nice to see the after as well. Posted some pics from our trip to Aruba. Kids were with us so they are probably pretty boring.
I'll look and see if it worth dealing with checking and rechecking bags. Thanks for the tip. Of course you can join this group. It is open to everyone, we just got excited and a few of us started posting early. The more people we have in the pool come Octoberbreast the better.
You don't have to recheck your bags. Southwest bought AirTran so they are now 1 airline operating under two different names. At some point, it will all be Southwest and AirTran will go away.
Aruba looks awesome! I just missed going there with my company last week. They take the top 7 sales reps in the country and I came in at #8 out of 50. Last year I was #2 in the country and Brent and I got to go to the Ritz Carlton in St. Thomas. I'm looking forward to meeting you both in Oct! -April
This is true, you won't have to recheck bags in San Antonio when you catch the Air Tran flight. I guess I should caveat that by saying I have never had to recheck bags going from Southwest to Air Tran but I have never flown through SA.
