I know ppl say tipping is encouraged here but how do you tip at the pool? Ziploc baggy of ones or do you just tip once big in the AM? Also at restaurants do people usually tip the servers or is that uncommon. Ive only been to all inclusives where tipping was frowned upon. I just don't want to be that asshole the staff hates because I'm I'll-informed
We plan on tipping 10-20$ when we first get to the swim up bar each morning to avoid having to keep track of money in the pool. And it will prevent me from giving a weeks worth of tips out on the first day- I tend to get overly generous with my money while drinking ;-)
If I'm gonna be in the pool for a long time, I'll tip big up front as others have suggested. If I'm in a chair catching some sun, I'll have a bunch of singles between the pages in my book for tipping the cocktail wait staff when they bring drinks out for us.
For me, For the pool I tip before to go in, on the night I give a big tips, since I really generous when I'm drinking too .. I went to a pub last week give 3 $ tips for my rum and coke LOL ! So after fews drinks cost me 100 $ LOL
I think the big tip at the beginning works the best. I feel too stripper-like walking around with ones tucked in my thong :daveandmo:
"Usually," what we do is I jam a few signles and a fiver in my suit pockets, and it be damned if it gets wet. Damned thing about money is, as it's really cloth, not truly paper, it gets wet, no worries, spends all the same wet or dry. We usually go down, Stacia ambles up to the bar "Talking with her chest" and usually gets noticed faster than the big goofy lummox behind her looking Secret Service-ish. She talks pico Espanol, jokes, gets a grin, tips the BT dude a quick couple of bucks, and if he's cool, she pulls me forward and we get my drinks next, and when I get it I tip the five. Yeah, I know, $7 on one round. But, I don't tip again until the shift in the day, like a meal, new folks come down, whatever. If you've hung at the Sexy Pool all day a couple of days, you'll notice what I mean. Stacia will usually want to go do something to her suit, go to the room for something, go to the bathroom there, rub one out, I don't know. Then she comes back, freshly loaded with the ame bill set up. It works for us. I think it's actually the courtesy that gets the result, and the tips help. I imagine having a great set of boobs out there doesn't hurt at all either.
We usually have an Otter Box* with us at the pool to keep our room key, smokes and money in. It keeps the bills dry for the staff. Other people also recommend cchanging some money for 20 peso notes as they are waterproof. But quite a few people also tip big early which seems to work for them. The main point is, the bar staff look after you so well, they earn every dollar and more! *Waterproof plastic box http://www.otterbox.com/otterbox-3000-cases/otterbox-3000-cases,default,sc.html
I like to actually wait and see if the service is worthy of a tip and how much I feel they deserve. It's like most resorts some servers are better than others and the occasional server who doesn't deserve anything or at least a minimal tip....It's not like they don't know that if they give great service their rewards will be much better...:bootyshake:
