Any Updates Appreciated We are TTR virgins and the place sounds awesome!!!! However, we are a little concerned about the all the news regarding the illness. We are scheduled to come next week, but wondering if we should delay trip until whatever is going on runs its course. Any updates from anyone who just got back would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
We have a group of the late June junkies that arrive next week, and while we are taking the necessary precautions, we are all still going. To quote from our group: We'll just have to fucking party like rock-stars on our first day just in case!! LOL And then we will wake up the next day wondering if we got the virus or if it was from partying! LOL see everyone next week!!!:aktion033::aktion069: Tom &Lorie
we definitely wouldnt have put off our trip because of this.. while quite a few people got sick, so many did not.. Guess it was hit or miss, we still had a great time on the rest of the trip while not sick..
Paty-O's was packed last night. If there is illness running through the resort, we haven't seen it. JMHO, but I always get a sensitive stomache a few days into our visits. I attribute it to long days in the sun, late nights drinking and dancing, eating foods unique to my system in a foreign country, etc. I (Joe) took an Imodium, had a delicious dinner at the Italian and partied the night away!
Wow. You put steak and seafood in your rear and didn't get sick? Clearly this illness is just in people's minds then. Sorry. Couldn't resist.
I work in a hospital too and was very sick with Norovirus in Feb. 2013, gave it to my husband, etc. We just got home from TTR last night and did not get sick. I wondered if we built up some immunity. We felt sad for all the people losing fun in the sun time during this trip. MANY people were sick. We did take our own cups but you can't avoid the ice and water, really. One thing to remember is, the residents of Cancun/Riviera Maya were deluged last week with Tropical Storm Andrea. So they have to show up with a happy face to work....meanwhile, their homes are flooded. Hope all you CCC folks are feeling better. Liv:aktion069:
may 31-June 7 My husband and I were there during May 31 to June 7. Yes we had lots and lots of rain. And I did get food poisoning from Margaritas and my husband got the Montezumas revenge from the Asian restaurant. Everyone we talked to; at least one person in their party was deathly ill, or sick from something, and it was not from drinking too much alcohol or the water.
I think she said on one thread she didn't use a translating program. However, I can only imagine how stupid we would come off if we were to try to converse in a second language!
