How's it going everyone!? My wife and I have been to Temptations approx 6 times, but all prior to 2008 (Blue Bay Getaway Days!!) . We're looking to go back this Sept and are curious if we're better off booking through RCI on a trade, or just paying through the resort? My main concern is room quality, since back when we use to go, the best rooms went to timeshare people and the old double bed rooms along the one side of the resort we're the standard. I don't know since it's been so long if they've remodeled all the rooms so they match now, or if my odds are better going through RCI? Any tips from some of the more recent party people would be appreciated!! Looking forward to seeing what's changed!! Thanks!! Steve and Jessica
The room quality isn't that much different unless you are getting a suite. So I'd say look at it comparing the RCI price, the hotels direct price and then get a third number (say alpharooms, travelocity, itravel2000 etc.) I know it doesn't exactly answer your question but depending on whether an ocean view, jacuuzi etc etc is important to you that could affect your price.
We have always booked thru RCI. Being weeks RCI members the price is always better. Plus RCI has their own office and concierge there so check in is a breeze and when we contact her before arrival she has always made sure to do her best to get us our favorite room. I don't know if the room is better, we just have never been any other way. We've always gotten personal and superior service there with RCI and kinda have the attitude why risk it any other way. Don't fix what aint broken LOL
Thanks for all the info!! We're probably going to be there Sept. 5-13th but would love to make some new friends on the board before we go!! One more question on RCI also, they have two Temptations listed. One is "Temptation Resort Spa #6330" and the other is "Temptation Resort Spa-FP #R109". Its obviously the same place, but Im wondering why theres two resort numbers?
Wish I could help you out, but we've yet to use our RCI thing as life blocked a return trip to Maui this year, etc. We book straight through the resort now, just do everything separate, upgraded Jacuzzi room included for members (the icky timeshare people, LOL), and it comes about out to ... how would I say it. Middle of the road for the discount outlets, like that? Alpha Rooms seems to have the best ongoing deals at TTR lately for non-member folks, and sometimes, stomping member rates too.
We've never used any timeshare points for AI resorts either, since ironically enough, we've always found a better rate at other resorts just booking straight through the hotels. It looks like RCI will save us $300 or so compared to what I've seen so far. I'll check out Alpha rooms. Thanks for the heads up!!! Holy shit.. Well looky looky.. It's Steve n' Jess!!! Miss you guys!!!! Check out Alpharooms. I have used them a few times, no issue. I like the rooms by PatyO's, but usually people hate them cuz they are too noisy.. I always love my room. I just got back a few weeks ago. Can't wait to go again.. Miss you guys!!! The Alpharooms rates are always great...but as a package with airfare, Expedia has always been our best option. I always check every option, and there are so many variables that it's always a good idea to do your homework. Airfare is always the biggest factor...and I check my local airport, plus Milwaukee and Minneapolis as I'm right between the two.
