Well it has Dan, otherwise why would I go to the bother of posting the first post? We book with them several times a year and it's the first time I have seen that message.
Hotels.com now says TTR caters to groups and couples. I think it used to say singles as well. Hopefully this is marketing to help avoid the stag groups that have caused problems.
You know I really can't figure this out. I've looked at sites and don't notice anything that says that single males aren't allowed. Just that some sites seem to have removed the word single from their advertising. Of course, I'm curious since I have a vested interest. Both as a single male and as a member at the resort...
Seems strange Keith I agree. I did not see the message anywhere else on the Alpharooms site only on the booking confirmation page - which by that point is already too late.
Maybe the Message is linked to your URL address and their targeting the UK singles ?( is that technically possible ?? ) I,m sure most single s on here could buddy up with another and still get a room. Or just buy a timeshare. Does the chicken count Kieth ?
Yes, that's certainly possible. It's called Geo-targetting and means that different content can be displayed depending on what country you are accessing the site from. I'm in the UK at the moment so maybe it just shows to us Brits. Others have reported that they see a 'strictly for the UK market' message, I'm not seeing that.
We just jumped on the TTR live chat on the TTR website and asked the questions if it was going to become all couples and the reply was that they are in the process of going to all couples resort!! It is a shame to eliminate all the single guys when we have met a number of great non problem causing singles. Wish there was a way to eliminate the problem causers that hunt in packs! We also wonder what direction the resort it taking on quality and cost. If they are aligning with the Desire or Pearl, then we are all looking at a price increases along with a face lift. Just guessing in this issues.
Hmmm, I'm trying to get some details on this myself. Needless to say that if this is the case I will be pissed off!:sauer005:
