The rates are higher right now than what we are accustomed to, but that is the price we pay for the increased popularity of the resort.
So $950 is high? I was pretty psyched over that deal. We paid over $3000 for hotel+flight last time we went to Cancun, so seeing rates that didn't even reach $2000 total seemed like a bargain. If I should wait to see if rates drop some more I will, I could always use the extra money to put towards all of our outfits for the week!
I promise you won't be disappointed plus we need you professionals to teach us newbies a thing or two or three or four...you get the point
The TTR rates were ultra cheap in the past compared to other destinations so those of us that have been going there for several years running are just spoiled. The rates have continued to climb steadily. We can go whenever we want to go so we typically shop for the most economical week in the months we are considering and then book it. I have done things a bit backwards this year by meeting people first and then targeting the week that seems most appealing from a people standpoint. That plan doesn't seem to be working out so far, but I am holding out hope. It is hard to justify spending an extra $600 for a one week difference. You are more locked into the dates that you have chosen so if you like the rate, book it!
Hey guys and gals, I wanted to apologize if I have offended anyone with my post, I am just being playful and the last thing I would ever want to do is scare any of you away from getting to know me and especially my wonderful wife who is absolutely awesome. I realize that being open is part of the experience but I also am new to this and wanted to make sure I haven't crossed any boundaries.
Get out of here! No reason to apologize. I can't imagine anyone having been offended by anything you have said, but I guess I could be wrong. Is Hannah trying to reel you in? LOL
Re the rates... $950 for 6 nights is not bad. But we just paid $920 for 7 which was great. So you are basically paying $160 a night instead of $130. The rates jump around like crazy. Some people were forced to book at $200 a night for April because they waited too long. It is possible that they will never go back to $130 for october. So there is risk in waiting but we have to figure out the kid thing first and there are some people we met last week that we are hoping will want to come back in October also so we will watch for now. End result is on alpharooms the price fluctuates between $130 and $200 a night depending on the exact dates you pick and when you are doing the search. I would not be unhappy with $950 for 6. And that little a difference would not cause us to switch dates. When you think about it $160 a night for what you get is crazy good! Floridatocancun, where are you seeing a $600 difference? On alpharooms I am seeing a much smaller difference. For example, as of 15 mins ago... Sept 28 to oct 5 or oct 5 to 12 or oct 12 to 19 were all $1120something. Basically $160 a night. Same if I did 5 or 6 nights. Last night I searched oct 5-12 and got $920, $130 a night. Can't get that to come back for any date combo. Definitely hit or miss. And as someone pointed out you can switch your dates after booking with them up until a certain point so that helps. Wish I locked in the 5-12 last night at $130 when I had the chance and then just switched later if i had to. But hopefully it comes back. Also remember to get trip insurance since it is hurricane season!
