We now have two large, one medium (hard case) and one carry on sitting on top of our hot tub in the sunroom. Since we are able to check two free bags each (thanks Delta AmEx for the free extra bag) we decided why not bring 4, and we could always take the carry on onboard if we had something on the way back we didn't want to check. Of course we will have small backpack bags for the plane ride. Remember, this is an 11 nighter for us.

We all have our packing lists, but wondered if anyone had any special tips about packing or what to bring that maybe no one else has thought of?

    Share your wise secrets....

Be prepared to buy a new suitcase? Blanco has got through 5 suitcases in the last 3 years! The last (not cheap!) one bit the dust on the return trip this April. One wheel was squashed so far back the bottom of his case dragged on the floor.
We used to have some solid hard case ones, but they are so heavy, my shoe allowance was limited!!!

We were there a week and brought a medium suitcase each. Ali had a bunch of theme night stuff and shoes etc. When we got hom we figured we'd each not used about 1/3 of what we took. Unless you have some pretty elaborate theme night stuff (full showgirl headdresses) I'm wondering what you'd pack in 2 cases? 7 bikini bottom and no tops for the days.... :icon_wink:

If it was an expensive one, contact the manufacturer. Most have warranties that people never ask about because they assume its all throw away..

Had the zips replaced under warranty already, and the small print states not including normal "wear and tear". Well it's now well worn and torn! These baggage handlers know no mercy!!

Put your outfits in ziplock bags with their accessories. That way you can squeeze the air out and pack more efficiently. Won't work as well for Tony's stuff, but perfect for small outfits. Also keeps the mildew smell out of your outfits before they are worn. I put all my draws in one bag, bikinis in one bag. Etc..
Seven nights and my one bag and carry on are filled. So I completely understand. Lol
And I wore everything I brought. Lol

Forgot to add that the bags are awesome for unpacking too. All wet suits and clothes are contained. And you can keep any clothes that aren't dirty in a bag together also

Hey that's a great idea. We always throw everything in the laundry, worn or not, as it has that damp smell to it.

Great ideas! We do bring a couple of large plastic bags that we put in the bottom of the closet for clothes that are dirty, that way when we pack up they are confined and we know which ones to wash. I did the plastic bags several years ago, and I think we actually had those that you take the air out of with the vacuum...some gimmick my mom bought but it did work well for on the way there but they were "puff" and big once you opened the bags. I agree you can take large storage bags and do the same thing, just squeeze them to flatten them out.

I do believe I will bring a few packs of Woolite to wash bathing suits in the sink, you always have your favorites. And maybe some fabric spray to keep them smelling fresh when they dry.

Do you bring extra beachy towels from home? Just to be different? I thought about it especially for the cruise, we have a bunch of the cheap ones we keep for our pool that way we could leave them if we wanted.
