I have a question for all you ladies out there - have any of you had laser hair removal for your bikini areas? I am contemplating getting it done, and I wanted to see if anyone had any positive or negative experiences with it? Maybe any words of wisdom?? I am allergic to high heat - including things like wax - so I am thinking that laser hair removal is probably the best way to go. Any feedback or advice would be much appreciated!

Best thing I ever did. I got a brazilian and my arm pits. I have one hair in my arm pits. Talking about a girl who could shave in the morning and could have five o'clock shadow by noon. In grown hairs, three hairs per follicle. I would bleed when I got waxed. Now I do not worry at all. Seriously. Love
The pain during is similar to an elastic being snapped on you. But pain is temporary.
I had many more than six treatments. I was lucky to have home to a place that guarantees for two years. So I went for two years. Lol. They made no money from me.
I have fair-ish skin with black hair, which is laser ideal.
I had no poor reaction to the laser. They have also come a long way over the years. Not as painful as when they first started.
    That was just crazy..
I had a friend in laser school about 13 years ago. I was her umm canvas. Shit hurt then. The hair would burn in your follicle, no cooling gel, or cooling wand.. Just focused laser burning the phuck out of you. Lol
Its sooo much better now. No worries. Parts will be more uncomfortable than others, but just think end result.. And take an advil.. Lol

Check Groupon, LivingSocial or the other daily flash sites for great deals offering Laser removal. Not all are great deals really though. The first time i got a deal for $299 for a large area(brazilian) at a place that had good reviews but i didnt really know much about the different types of lasers. This place used a IPL type machine and i found out that that IPL machines are much weaker then a "real" laser machine so the results i got were not that great.
This year i got a deal where i got a year of unlimited laser in a large area(legs) for $199 and they use a real laser machine and so far the 2 times i have gone i have already seen much greater results then i saw with IPL and in speaking with others this is pretty common.

I have done it five times............I still have some hair but I am far from where I was when I started. I do have alot of blond hair so laser isn't the best for me. I also did my armpits too and hardly have any hair there now. I have done my legs and I can do for along time without shaving. Hardest part for me was planning it around trips and tanning. You don't want to be tanned. Really research locations that do it and go in talk too them and ask for a demo. Stay away from aggressive laser techs that use too high a frequency. The last time I went she was too aggressive and she burnt me. I have also known people that have been scarred by it too. Once again too aggressive.

Okay, here goes Match banging the laser drum again. Love Love LOVE laser hair removal. BALD IS BEAUTIFUL woot woot!

As stated above, avoid IPL, which is what many salons use because they also use it for photofacials. IPL will work, but over a much longer period of time which means more $$$.

Try to get a Groupon-type deal for a place with the Lightsheer Diode laser. I have used about 5 different types of lasers, and this is the only kind I will use now. It cleared my lower legs of 80% of the hair in only 6 treatments. You need to have dark hair and relatively fair skin to use the Lightsheer laser. There ARE some lasers that will work on darker skin, or on fairer hair, but the process will take many more treatments.

Have to comment on this. Perhaps my skin is less prone to laser burns, but my current tech totally cranked the frequency on my last 2 visits, to the point I was literally flying off the table with every pulse, but the results were MUCH better than in previous treatments. Som aggressive can be good IF you already know that you are not prone to adverse reactions from lasers. Go to a reputable salon, not some dump in a seedy part of town, so you`ll have a technican that knows exactly what she`s doing.

Karen I found the same.. I have no adverse effects, so I asked her to crank it up.. I jumped when she got to certain area's but it kicked ass on my follicles. Huge difference than when they played it on the safer side..

Will it work if you have fair skin/dark hair normally but a tan when doing it?
