Ok Jen and I have a hour and 10 minute layover in Atlanta is that going to be enough time to change planes that's a big airport? Also does anyone know what gate AirTran flies out of to Cancun just like to be prepared Jen gets crabby and she,s a nervous flyer and every little hiccup just makes it worse..
If you have checked bags, it is highly unlikely they won't hold the plane for you... they can't fly with your bags on the plane and you on the ground (unless they transfer your bags without you knowing).
Most of the time when you check in at the airport they'll print off all of your boarding passes, with what should be an accurate gate. Usually the flight crew will find and tell people if their gate has changed before landing. Otherwise just hop off the plane look at the nearest readerboard and move along. Also the inflight magazines also usually have an airport map you can look at before you get off. So kick back relax and enjoy the flight!
you can also track your flights from the last couple of days and see if they seem to be flying ontime and you can also look up maps for different airports and print them up before you leave and have a feel for where you need to go when changing planes. you may have to take a tram to the international terminal. never went to cancun from atl but went to england thru there once and had to go to the international terminal for my second flight. just do a google search for tracking flights/airport maps...good luck...see you in 10days...charlene
Yikes. Layovers (would think this means something different at TTR) of 50 min and 1:10? Now that's stressful. Hope you all make it - I wouldn't want to have to take over your room because it has a jacuzzi or ocean view. Gotta love direct flights out of Canada!!
First, when you land, look for your Gate assignment for your next flight on the message boards. All international filghts leaving and arriving from the Atlanta Hartsfield Jackon airport do so from their International Terminal which is Concourse F - just take the underground tram from which ever Terminal you arrive in to Concourse F and then double check your Gate assignment for you next flight - proceed to that gate You will have more than enough time to make your connection, even though it is a big airport moving between terminals is very quick and efficient
