I'm sure this has been asked, could'nt find thread, I'm staying in hotel zone, is it the R1 bus I take to isla mujres ferry dock? How much is ferry and golf cart rental while there? also are the resturants and beach bars, walking distance from ferry, should I use $US or exchange to pesos? thanks

I will also be going to Isla and the ferry i calculated to about $26 round trip for two people. I was told most of cancun accept US dollars however keep in your mind that its about 12 Peso's to $1 US. I plan on bringing a small calculator just so i can figure out the currency exchange and I dont get ripped off.

Let me know when you are going, i was thinking sun the 14th or mon the 15th....plus I just read that its easier to go to the island from the ferry dock in cancun, then going to the one in puerto juarez, you save alot of time, and the ferry leaves at 915am and 1030 am, i wrote the name of the dock down, i'm pretty sure i've been there before anyways its where all the pirate ships etc leave out of..., plus we can take the city bus there for a $1, i'm also thinking of going to downtown cancun, coco bongos or the city fri the 12th or sat the 13th

I will see you there, one thing is, it would be cheaper to split a taxi and matybe even a golf cart on the island, i guess you can rent golf carts for the whole day..and its like 45dols

I have been told the ferry in puerto juarez is much much cheaper than the tourist ferry's. Supposedly the bus will dump you off at that one also...we want to go to the island this year also...just not sure if it's worth all the effort and time away from the resort.:deadhorse:

sounds good John we fly in on the 13th but I am unsure what days we are doing what. I know one day we are going to Dolphinarius so my wife can swim with the dolphins, one day or morning to Isla and possible one night to the pirate ship dinner cruise.

Thats cool, see what happens, yes its alot cheaper from puerto juarez its like $3 and from the other its $15 round trip...They have the dolphin swim on isla mujures as well, look it up(you can kill two birds with one stone).. My wife and I did the dolphin swim in punta cana dominican a few years ago..its fun! I've also done the pirate ship, this is like my 5th time to cancun, so were just basically gonna relax and party. maybe the isla mujures for half a day and out downtown to a club.

I think either the R1 or R2 bus will get you to the Gran Puerto ferry dock to Isla Mujeres. To go to Puerto Juarez dock, then you would want the R1 route.

Just got back from 7 incredible days at Leblanc. Made the trip to Isla Mujures. Took the R2 bus to Playa Tortugas, about a 10 minute ride to get the Ferry $1 dollar per person each way. There is either 9 or 10am ferry. That was simple. The dock was not. Lines and confusion. Eventually we got in the line to board the ferry and just paid right before we boarded. $17 per person round trip. You get two vouchers when you pay.Try to have close to exact change.

We rented a jeep on the ferry $45 until 5pm. Probably could get it a few dollars cheaper on the island. It was a blast.Don't miss it
