Where'd you get your pesos from? Lowest I've found here so far are $50s.

We've gone for mainly pesos in the end, except Boobs Cruise payment. We already have pesos for our exit tax (so organised!) If only the official currency was boobies...we would save a lot of money!

Make life easier - when you get there, take an empty envelope, count out and put your 'exit tax' into the envelope alonside your passport and lock away in the safe. Then you don't have to think about it every time you spend $ or forget to put it aside.

Not my idea, but a good one along the same lines , is divide up your tips into the amount of days your going to be there.

Its easy to get carried away and give all your tip money in one drunken moment.
Saw a guy once tip 500 pesos for a shot , he had no clue.( about $50 us).

I think sometimes we make to much effort to predetermine our tipping plan. We all want to help the under paid workers and contribute to the Cancun economy.. but should we just not worry that much about it and tip as usual.......which in my opinion is.....good service ..... good tip.... bad service bad tip...:aktion061:

This is why I've decided to stick to dollars, although a couple of months ago I was thinking I would get pesos because they are smaller and waterproof. I don't want to have to try to figure out how much money I am tipping when I'm plastered. When I waited tables in university, I had a Japanese tourist try to tip me with a $100 bill. I had a heck of time trying to explain the situation to him. My service wasn't THAT good!

It has been known to work. I got two silver (??) bracelets and hoop ear rings for 200 pesos and a quick look at the boobies. I thought it was a good deal....:icon_biggrin:
