Nothing is a secret Tim but like I said before, each contract is what you negotiate. I don't pay an AI fee. My week is free based on what I negotiated. With my initial cost of the contract our weeks cost about $600 per person. That includes our airfare that we still use our points for. Now some may pay more or less depending on what they worked out in their contract. You can ask 10 different members & get 10 different answers. Costs of AI fees also vary based on season & time of year.

Again, I don't know what scares people about approaching Premier. Get your answers from the source.

We go every year with a premier member We once again are going with them in april and taking a day trip on the Temptation yacht. My thought is if you are paying $600 a week, when we paid $900 per person for 9 days. That is $300 savings for you. it would take alot of trips to make it worth the up front costs If it was such a great deal, why dont everyone want one. This will be our 15th time to Temptations this april. We have always booked ourselves, and will book when a good deal come thru. Why would anyone be afraid to talk to premier members. We are all there for the same reason, and they are no better and regular people

Well I belived we got burned in our contract, we got caught up in the RCI , Bluebay thing too. We also payed enought for our contract to buy a new car! What we where never willling to do was to pay more money to fix it. We try every year with no results. The last time we tryed we just wanted to get rid of the matience fee, we we told that would cost us $4.000 or they want us to give back all our points ( 5 millions) which we paid a lot of money for! Maybe we are always to nice I dont know. Every year I have some kind of problem either they lose our money some where or they never respond to a booking request or something else goes wrong. Dont get me wrong I love the resort and I like being a member. But we got screwed, just remember they can change anything in you contract any time they want too to suit their needs

You don't understand Tim. The $600 IS the up front costs. We pay only the tax on our airfare. Hotel, airfare, food & drinks cost nothing when we go. That is $300 per person savings per trip. Every trip! I can rent the yacht myself. You can't go on the yacht without a member so it's a good thing some us join huh? If you go every year with a member why don't you talk to them about all your questions?

I said talk to the Premeir people (staff). I never said the Premier members were better than anyone else. Please don't twist my words around. You can talk to all the people we go with in Feb during Week 8. I don't flaunt my membership but share it with my friends. They go on the yacht, eat lobster, eat with our dinner reservations, sit in the upstairs hot tub, get massages for free, stay in the Premier rooms, free wifi, drink service at the pool, room service.

I've said my peace on this subject. I don't need to defend my membership because we are happy with it & the extras we get. Plus it costs us less. If you are worried about us members, please don't. We will survive. If you are kicking yourself for going to TTR 15 times without buying in & all the extra money it has cost you - well do something about it. Not sure after 15 times why this is an issue with you.

    Have a nice day! :icon_biggrin:

We have read quite a few threads on this same subject over the last 3 years and to be honest with you its to each there own.We are members for the last 4 yrs and love the deal we got. We bought in when the economy was in the dumps so we made a deal that worked in our favor and fit our budget.they made us a pay off option last year if we paid it off in full which we did. They took off 15% of the total plus all the interest. Our all inclusive is also about 90 per day per couple in the high season and 60 in the low season. We go to TTR 2x a year and love the fact that we can get the same room we like when we arrive without a hitch and all the perks that come with the membership. We know it doesnt work for everyone but we have no complaints since we became members.with this said we cant wait to get back to TTR in 17 days to see all our member and non member awesome friends that we have made and will make in the future......

Hmmmm, just had a tought, I have 6 weeks at temption left after our trip in May I wonder if I could sell them for 100 bucks a piece. I did look every where to try and find it cheaper and for the first year I couldnt find it cheaper anywhere! At least that would pay for our matinence fee!

Is it true you can use the weeks at thousands of other places? Are there blackout dates? I know each contract is different, but I am just asking general. I like getting information from those that actually have experience with the Premier membership. I feel sales people are shady. There job is to try to sell you whatever it is (membership, car, washer, whatever) at all costs. I've encountered too many sales people that lie, hide catches and strings, or elaborate on something to get the sale. They are also incredibly pushy, including the staff at TTR. We were hassled by them every time we walked through the lobby. That is why I think some, including myself, would rather get the information from an actual member.

We could go 50 times, and still would not buy in. Its really not worth it . The yacht, eating lobster, or sitting in hot tub is really not on our bucket list when we go. We were asked to go last time to go on yacht for our sons bday. We also get drink service at the pool.. I dont go on vacation to be on computer. You feel its worth it, I dont. End of subject

So - to precis - it works for some, and not for others. We all end up at TTR with a towel, be it red or white. Peace out guys!
