I had this very same question a couple years ago and decided to talk to the staff at the hotel to see what they liked. Tipping is appreciated in Mexican currency. That way they don't have to stand in line at the banks to get US money changed. As for gifts left in the room....it's a nice gesture but many of the room maids are young with no children. Also the some hotels have rules that they are not allowed to take gifts of any sort, tip money only. They like to do the same sort of things we do when they're not working....night clubs, dinner out, shopping. That takes money and they really don't make much and are paid by the day not hour. So i don't use precious room in my suitcase for trinkets that may not be wanted. As we say, "money talks" and the people of Cancun work hard for the tips. Tip the bartender a buck or two a drink is good. I was told the bartenders have to share their tips with all the bar staff of that day. I usually give a 20 (200 P ) and am looked after for the day and night and remembered the next day. Have fun.....Cheers
Xelha/XCaret I'm reading some reviews that say it's a ripoff to book excursions to these places through TTR. Is that true? Should I book elsewhere? Also any advice on what clothing to pack? Obviously we need swim suits and a decent outfit to eat Italian or Asian. What's typical for men on lingerie night? Thanks again! :aktion069::lotsofmichaelfs:
We just looked at the weather for the next week and we have snow for the next 7 days and the temp will not go above 35F. These are the times after booking the cruise for the 16th and seeing how happy everyone is that the trip is getting closer. Knowing that i will be seeing many friends again it just makes me feel that no matter what the weather is outside I stay nice and warm knowing I only have 23 days til the party begins. Thank you to everyone for making us look forward to this vacation so much.
Ohhh so miss u guys sun is not far away!!! Do u think Tina is up for another kayak ride? I may need help with my life jacket...heeheee Honestly 2 drunk girls trying to navigate in 4 feet of water....no official entertainment needed that day!! Whoop whoop
