I have been watching rates very close every day. Expedia charges 49 $ a day extra for Jacuzzi room. I thinking about Oct or November trip. Hotel should not be full capacity. Anyone traveling these months know what the hotel usually charges to upgrade once you are there? Am i better to pay the fifty bucks online or upgrade at the hotel. Also will they negotiate price at hotel or is it set

$49 a day for upgrade to jacuzzi in advance is very good. I would jump on that. Might be because it is a slower time or you are planning so far in advance. Regardless it is good.

I negotiated on site and was offered $100 a night initially and got it down to $50something. I have heard of others getting it down as low as $44 and others getting it free due to an oversold regular room situation or being bumped a night. A lot depends on what time of year. We got our $50 price week 8 2010 and we didn't get it for all nights as it wasn't available every night.

We are going in April this year and I was concerned about a possible oversold situation and am thinking onsite changes will be hard to come by with every room filled. So I contacted the resort directly and they upgraded us for $102 a night to jacuzzi plus drops of love. Which includes massage, lobster dinner, priority dinner reservations and a couple other perks. So given our risk it made sense to us. And since your possible upside of waiting is so small I would book now, as long as that Expedia price was $49 total a night and not $49 person per night.
