No, no, no...I'm not implying Kristen is a cheater. In fact, I don't think it would be possible for a person to have manipulated the voting that way. A marketing department, however, could. And does.

These questions/comments, and the others like them, are very reasonable to ask and deserve an honest response. The contest outcome looks highly suspicious - and should be examined out of respect for the time and extreme efforts made by a few other contestants. Given the capricious functioning of the voting site, that alone justifies some consolation to those who got hundreds of votes despite all that - but likely lost hundreds more votes in the time the winner somehow got hundreds of votes - things that make you go hmmmmmm!

I know for a fact that I had dozens of friends helping to vote for one contestant who gave up with all the problems with the site working - it is hard to get people to come back to voting after that!

It would at least be nice to get some explanation from Kristen on Summerbum's post - what marketing was done that we can't see that would yield such spectacular results, especially without using Cancuncare? Please, do tell us how the appearance of no effort could yield better results than the extreme time consuming marketing efforts of the other top two contestants! We really, really are curious!

You know what's funny is the post at the top of the page. I don't know if its true or not, probably is but if that's the case, then the resort itself appears to be the one that did do the "rigging".

    Hi everyone,
My name is Josh, I’m Kristens boyfriend. I saw the chatter here on the board and thought I would put in my 2 cents. First off, Kristen was very disappointed when this year turned out to be an online contest. If you had ever seen her perform you would know why, she is a multi-talented, singing, dancing, acrobatic pole wiz. I’m not just saying this, it’s what she does for a living. If it would have come down to a real live contest, I’m sure Kristen would have more than held her own. Unfortunately this year it was an online popularity contest and some people had an advantage, being well known on this board helps, working for a company with thousands of employees obviously helps. The fact that Kristen performs multiple times a week and often has a few hundred people in attendance who adore her, helps. The fact that I’m a photographer who recently did an online class on how to shoot nudes with several hundred people signing in (go figure, naked girls were involved) helps. The fact that one of her friends owns one of the biggest tanning salons in the area and insisted that all of her customers voted for Kristen helped. The fact that we own a bikini coffee stand, and have hundreds of clients a day helps.
I know I did everything I could to get her votes, heck, I want to go back to Temptation!

The awful truth of the matter is we will never know and should not continue to speculate, end of story. The sad reality is that if the "system" is broken in the voting process and there tends to be this much controversy over such things, that the resort is going to have a VERY VERY hard time finding women that are going to want to be in the contest and stay in it.

The is no incentive other than to have fun at the time. I will give Kristen all the props in the world. She is very beautiful and may be very talented, and energetic and you may have a ton of business related customers that will vote, but the fact stand that things stink in a certain way and not directed at anyone! It just is not what seems likely in the real world senarios. Ihope that some women will still compete while there but as far as the longevity of the contest.... I don't see it having legs if this continues.

Appreciate you responding and congrats on your victory. I cant think of a better prize then getting to go back to TTR. I think you understand that a lot of us are reacting not to the total number of votes but how there were a ton in short periods. Due to our suspicion of the resort fixing these contests in the past we assume that was happening here and we will never know for sure. Please dont think for a moment that any of that is directed at you or Kristen personally. You sound like nice folks and it sounds like she is no less deserving than anyone else. I would of been upset too if they switched the contest to online. So many potential complications just to save a few bucks. Again, congrats. Now teach me how to take nude photographs!

    Miss Temptation Contest

The saddest part is that anyone can predict who will win 95% of the time simply by monitoring voting patterns.

To win the weekly contest you have to have a great personality, so nobody is disputing that Kristen is most likely a fun and deserving person.

What everyone has a problem with is the way votes are accumulated on the website. I have personally timed a vote increase during one of the monthly contests and found that the person in question received one vote literally every 45-50 seconds for over an hour, on multiple occasions throughout the contest!

What this competition does for the hotel is helps them accumulate a massive email list which, whether used for their own marketing/advertising or sold to other businesses, is VERY valuable.

If one girl runs away with the competition for the month (or in this case year), then there goes their email address resource. So it is obviously in the best interest of the hotel to keep it close! This ensures that the contestants find new people to vote, garnering even more email addresses.

The "fairness" of the competition is believed by nobody. Back when Jenn (Mrs. NekkidSundays) won, she received plenty of votes that even we couldn't understand. We did a TON of promotion, and had all our friends helping as well (THANK YOU!!) but if we fell behind at all, Jenn's vote count would jump up at times by blocks that just didn't makes sense. We can only conclude that it must have been the hotel keeping it close for their benefit as the same thing happened with the votes of the other girl that Jenn was in competition with.

The entire process feels slimy, it's way too much work for the small and seemingly random chance at winning, but Temptation is such a fun place that a free trip back is enticing enough to go through all the trouble, so what are the alternatives?

We aren't going to find out the truth about how the votes are tallied/counted/manipulated, so I guess for now it's to continue the process of begging for votes each month, leaving many with a bad taste in their mouth after realizing something isn't right, while the rest of us who have been through it before continue to disappointingly read all the forum posts pleading for help, only for the contestant to realize it was all in vain.

I feel bad for the people that really try to win as well as those who support them. It's so stressful, and leaves everyone feeling cheated.

I think what you saying is correct and it is the site manipulating the results but it might be the way that the tracker has been set up and that it does a look up at certain times of day and then sends the number over to the website in batches which is why suddenly the numbers jump over a short time.
I know from working for various companies where we have done similar things the results we get back can be displayed real time but normally they released in batches as its easier to do but it is also easy to manipulate when and how the results are released

Congrats on your upcoming wedding, you two! About time! ;)

As a contestant, all you can do is hope that you are the "chosen one" for the month (or year). If you are not, no amount of blood, sweat and tears will get you the win.

What I don't understand is why the effort is not made to create the appearance of a fair contest by adding the "free votes" gradually, so as not to raise suspicion. Then at least the other contestants could feel better about the result, believing that the winner simply had more genuine support, and there wouldn't be an uproar at the end of each contest.
