Lol, yeah that might be the "best" way.

It's easy to catch the public bus from downtown Cancun bus station, about $7 each way. Or you could rent a car. It's only 40 miles on one straight road so not a huge or complex journey.

Just outside and to the right of Temptation catch the R1 Bus and ask them to drop you at the bus station. The ADO buses depart just about every half hour and cost around 50 peso per person each way. The buses are very modern and clean. I'm thinking that the trip takes about 1 Hour 20 mins and it drops you on the south end of 5th Ave a few blocks from the ferry to Cozumel.

Yes the ADO bus is the way to go. Very spacious, clean, and comfortable. I took from airport to playa for a few days then took from playa to cancun. ADO station is right downtown on 5th avenue the main strip in playa.

So take a cheap short cab ride to ado station then take bus. Like said its only 50 pesos. And runs at least every hour if not half hour. Times are on ADO site

Took a taxi there yesterday, 500 Pescos each way ($45 USD), worth every penny as the buses stop randomly every 20ft whenever someone wants to get off, I dont think there are designated bus stops, only pick up spots.

It was a nice way to relax and lay my head back and fall to sleep while travelling. When you get there, check out The Tequila Barrowl, night time is amazing fun there

My thought is that it's not THAT far. Try arranging a transport through USA Transfers, perhaps?

When you are in Playa, if you are there duirng the right weekday, make sure you check out the outdoor/beach Fire Dancers show at the Blut Parrot.

And, do some drinking at The Tequila Barrel. Fun spot.
