Yes I am better now, it was back in September... Hit and run which left me with a fractured pelvis, fractured collar bone, broken wrist, severe concussion, whiplash, road rash down to bone on knees and all up back. I walked away which is important, ahha didn't walk like a month after but time heels most. Unfortunately it left me in pretty bad shape physically. Been back in the gym about 2 months and can say after 2 hours in the gym tonight I am back to the same shape I was before the accident. So 2 hours tonight, 15 minutes on stairs then chest and tri's and it was great starting to take back on my old form.
As someone who definitely lives n pain. Severe Osteoarthritis. Work with what is going on and work out as much outside the pain as you can. I have huge knee problems especially since tearing my menicus 19 months ago and some days I can do alot and others I wear a brace so I can get through it. I struggle like hell with things i used to do easily. I stop running over two years ago as every single step is painful and my feet often go numb when I work out as well. I struggle everyday with knee pain on every step so I totally get it. Have you every used a threadmill to rehab the feet. On a slow speed like 1.7 km, walk sideways kinda in side lunges, walk backwards on the threadmill and crossover legs sideways. You can use incline to add more resistance if you like. Just a few minutes each workout will help. Use marbles with your toes and pick up a marble and move it 6 inches right and left. And most important learn how to stretch the feet and do it regularly. You can also lay a towel out and use your toes to bring it toward you, when that get easy then wet the towel. I hope it gets better for it. Rest is important too so soak those feet in water and relax.
I can understand that you want it for sure.. I just think that the pain is telling you something and we all tend to push ourselves with out listening to our body. sounds to me like your doing great....
Just yesterday I was thinking about trying the sideways and backwards walks on the treadmill... i may try it today... I already do the stretching since its recommended for my PF.. I'm just trying to see if i'll be able to participate in a 5k we've signed up for March 10. Today my feet aren't bothering me, so i'm gonna decide after work if I want to go for more walking/running on the treadmill, or just go straight outside and try it... I thought about it more, and I can't complain too much about yesterday. I mean I did do a total of 4 miles between the treadmill & elliptical, and then another 1.2 miles outside... I hope I'm good today. I love and hate running outside... I hate it because its cold, but i love it because it makes me feel like a badass.. Especially with the annoyingly bright long sleeve workout shirt the wife bought me yesterday.. :clappyinghappy:
you guys inspired us.my wife likes to watch TV when walking on the treadmill. only problem is that every time she wanted to walk on it she would try to move or call me down to move our 50in TV, which is a real pain in the Ass to move. the main reason why she wouldn't use the treadmill all that much. so i went out and bought her a 19in TV and and mounted it from the ceiling 2 feet in front of the tread mill, she's using the tread mill every day now after work, problem solved.
solvin the TV problem... ... one of our favorite quotes; "Don't tell me why it can't happen, Show me how it can!" Gr8 Job Guys!
I got one two, love it and i can also watch it from the reflection in the mirror when other equipment too. Good choice.
Well did a bunch of leg work with my fitter(side lunges, reverse lunges, and forward lunges), shoulder press, diagonal rear flyes, bicep curls, triceps, cable abdominal horizontal pulls, crunches, reverse crunches, chest press, and then worked the shoulder stretches with a broom handle for optimium stretches. Been getting a bad shoulder lately but that I am sure has more ot do with years and years of my job. Anyways I worked up a great sweat and friday's weigh in is down 1 more pound. Not what I want but I will take it. down a total of 7 lbs from Jan 3 now.
That's what i love about our new gym. The equipment has TV's built in so you can watch what you want... As where our old gym had TV's on the wall and you had to tune to FM on your headphones to listen.. Who even has FM radios anymore!?!?!?
That is great Monique- I am losing about a pound a week too. Of course I want to lose faster too but it seems to be working slow and steady.
