Finished tattoo reveal Well....here it is. Like I said, it looks different than originally planned but I'm happy with it, which is what matters. If you look closely you can see our kid's and grandson's first initials within the filigree elements. A, M and C. I didn't mention before but this tattoo covers quite a bit of scar tissue from past surgeries. I thought my tattoo artist did a great job considering some of the scar tissue was keloid. I can finally wear a little bikini! I haven't been able to do that since I was a teenager so this is a big deal to me. Especially at TTR where less is more!
I'm ashamed to say this guy is from my home town... Grimsby man David Taylor offering his forehead on eBay for tattooed advertising space to pay off debts | This is Grimsby :daisy:

I loved reading these posts. I've been talking about a lower back tattoo for years and I think I've finally decided what I want. My question is: we leave for Temptations in just over 6 weeks. I've had people who tell me the tatt will heal in a week, and others who say to avoid the sun for as long as three months. I'd love to debut it for this trip, but I don't want to rush the healing. Thoughts from those with experience? (It will have colour) Thanks, Pat
Yes, don't do it now! These things take a lot of looking after! I have a few, 3 on my back. People neglect to tell you things like, they leak, a lot, and you have a lot of cleaning up to do in the early days. Then they dry, and you flake skin, all over. And you need to clean, moisturise etc etc. This is NOT an event to be rushed. Besides, it should take you longer than 6 weeks to decide what you REALLY want. Do it, but for next trip, not this one!! :daisy: Oh, and research your artist - very important!
My wife and I have a few... feel free to check out our pics!!! We didn't start getting ours until our mid 30's... Definitely didn't jump into it, we took our time deciding on what to get.
