I'm attractive to biting insects. Been to TTR twice - Jan and Nov. In the Jan I was bitten numerous times, until I literally sprayed the room top to bottom with half a can of expensive and potent 'tropical strength' bug spray. Then waited about a week for the original bites and inflammation to go down.

In the Nov I was bitten once, which was my own fault for standing barefoot on the grass next to my room patio door.

I've looked into this, and seems mosquitoes flourish near standing water, so bit unfortunate hotel is right across the street from the lagoon. I would guess the mosquito problem gets worse after periods of warm moist weather or heavy rain, when there might be more standing water than usual?

My opinion, take a bug repellant that has DEET. Nothing else would work for me. Just be careful not to inhale it, use sparingly, and apply it naked because it can stain clothes, erodes leather, melts plastic and assuming it'll have a similar reaction with enamel stuff too.

Was there in Jan, the only bug we saw was an ant in our bathroom after it rained for 2 days, and my wife just draws bugs.

We have discovered "bug sticks," which you apply to the bite. They contain ammonia, which apparently eases the itching.

We will bring some Cutter's, Aeroguard and Deep Woods Off.

I hope that keeps the little bastards at bay!

Bring bug spray with DEET and use it all the time. I am a biting bug magnet and all 4 times we have been there I have left with lots of itchy bites from something - not mosquitoes, but more like sand fleas.

    Mosquitos

I'm at Temptation right now and I'm being bit like crazy, only when I'm in my room. I tend to get bit during the summer at home but these bites are particularly bad.
