Hey everybody. Ryan and I are leaving tomorrow for TTR and today we have been talking about everything we're looking forward to and everyone we can't wait to see, old friends and new. However, I think it's important to share something I've experienced at TTR. Today, I remembered a certain phenomenon that I think people should watch out for, especially if you're the female half of a straight couple....I think I shall call this phenomenon "Possibility of your man going absolutely apeshit at TTR over the first few days." Let me explain: some people get really, really excited during their first 72 hours or so at TTR. Not to be sexist, but I really have only noticed this phenomenon happening (in a bad way) to men, although I'm sure some ladies also experience said Apeshitness. I think it has a lot to do with the copious amounts of alcohol and blatant sexy vibe the resort exudes. Wait, there's something else--oh yeah, the topless factor. I have seen all of this combine and watched some men go 72 hours or so with very little sleep and a constant state of hyperactivity and craziness. I figure some are on something a little stronger than alcohol, but have also seen this phenomenon happen to completely drug- (but not alcohol)-free guys who are really awesome, sensitive, fun guys, after the first 72 hour burn wears off.

This happened to us on our second trip. I started to notice my man was like a giddy schoolboy who had just got his first glance of jugs. I realized I was getting a little uncomfortable with his lack of sleep and giddiness, and we talked about it, and he calmed down....but I've seen other couples not make it through those first few days so well. So, not to be a downer, but I think it's really, really, REALLY important to keep the communication lines open if you're going as a couple and experiencing new things. This is key to happiness and ultimate crazy fun together that you are both comfortable with at TTR.

We already had our "pre-TTR" talk about the possibility of Apeshitness going awry and I'm totally excited about our 4th trip to TTR which starts tomorrow when the car picks us up at 5:50am. I'll see you all tomorrow at TTR!!

I will post this link on face book so that the girls can keep me under control.

If you see me with the symptoms please send me to the wardens for my shot.

What if you dont drink much, and you still get the "illness?"
Is there a cure or some type of management solution?

Is there any way to avoid this "sickness" you keep talking about?
Can I get a shot for it before I go?

lol Lion. Yes the management solution is to talk to Zebra and make sure you are both having a great time! And yes, I think tons of alcohol has a lot to do with it but it's not solely responsible for Apeshitness. I'll pack some Thorazine for ya just in case, although it might be hard to fit into our suitcase that already contains 20 lbs of jello, a box of wine, and 6 cans of AIWC.

You nailed it on the head, doctor! I can't wait to show this to Tom. Your comedic writing on this very real phenomenon is brilliant.

Have a fantastic time. See you next week!!
