Just got back from TTR for the first time. Had some of the same reservations, especially my wife. Once we were there however, we had a blast. Met some people form this board on day one and partied the whole week with them. Never once were approached by swingers (well at least I wasn't). You will have a great time.
Swingers are just more fun anyway, whether you partake or not! :huepfen021: Seriously, people who are in the lifestyle tend to be more open-minded, fun, laid back, and know how to party like rockstars! There are typically no testosterone-induced fights you might see at a "vanilla" bar, respect is paramount and as others mentioned they understand that "no means no." Relax, you will have a BLAST!! Personally we think the hotel is over hyped as a swingers resort because of other review sites. Our first trip was last summer and Darci had a cancun swingers bracelet the whole trip and was never approched by anyone asking if we swing. Matter of fact the only one the really questioned it was an employee that kept asking us questions. We went to have a good time and we are going back this summer looking to have another good time. Sure you will be going back after that trip as well.
You'll be going the same time as my husband and I. Don't worry about a thing. Did you know that you neighbour and dentist are swingers. They don't throw it in your face. This past December we were approached and we said no....we are not swingers. We continued to party with this couple, had a great time and developed a great friendship. It didn't affect the time we had there with them and the many other friends we made. Go, have fun and don't worry. You'll return as we have year after year (5). Its addicting. Cheers
Wow! There are swingers everywhere. Why are people so scared of being around swingers? Believe it or not, they are the funnest people to hang out with. They are nonjudgmental, not jealous, very respectful and they bring some creativity and excitement to the party!! Don't base your trip on swingers being there because they are everywhere. I'm sure you work with some and don't even know it!
OK, we need, I mean REALLY need a way to counter the folks that love to spin TTR as a Swing-haven. I'm opening up the floor to suggestions. How about flooding Trip Advisor with counter-swing reviews? That doesn't seem right or fair, really, the lifestyle folks like to show up and are often the life of the party, which is cool..... But, the new folks are always scared of someone pushing up on them and saying something/doing something like, "Hi, how are you, I'm Mike, this is Devin. She's into strap-ons and I love doing people, either gender, I just met in the butt. What's your names?" Seems to put people off. Note: I have never, ever, met anyone who acted even remotely like that at TTR.
