This is probably an old subject, but -- how bad are the mosquitos and "noseeums" at TTR? Linda is a supermagnet for them, so do we need "weapons grade" repellant?
I have been in late November, April, and early September and not had a problem with bug bites, and bugs LOVE me. But I've read posts reporting that some people do get bit there at some times of the year. Not sure when "bug season" is.
rangehat:ya bug magnet here too. both april and sept. i was bit. now april was worse got bit twice while checking in! found one creature flying around my room while unpacking. bring bug spray!! if you dont use it great! if you need to you have it!! i wont leave the house without it, unless its snowing! just my two cents worth.

Thank you, KIMNTOYA! We are there May 2-11 and will bring some repellant. One time, we were in the car, listening to the radio when an ad came on for the "Mosquito Magnet," for $150. I remarked that I didn't have to spend $150 for one when I already have one with me. Linda growled!
We've been there in the first part of December and also in the middle of October. October seemed to be worse for the bugs than December. I don't recall being bit hardly at all during our December trip but I did have a couple of skeeter bites during the October trip. Also, I like to go hang out on the balcony while the wife gets ready before going out for dinner and I noticed a few bites on the lower part of my legs from the noseeums.
We go in June, and the bugs have not been a problem for us. We do have a friend that goes the same time but they sleep with their balcony door cracked open. She did get bit during the night several times.
Been in January, not a problem, July - got bitten to death on the one night I went out without spray. Was in the ladies neat the Tex Mex, sort of outside, no aircon, was "occupied" when a dozen little blighters attacked me, and judging by the squealing, the lady in the next cubicle too! And once you've "started" you can't just run! Ouch! Always take 50% DEET with me, if I don't use it all well and good. But not taking any chances! Last Nov/ Dec not a problem either. :daisy:
Okay, that explains why I didn't get bit...Kathy was at the resort the same time as me ha ha. I'll just keep travelling with you Kathy and she'll occupy all the skeeters for me. :wink3:
