So we saw a list of available alcohol at the hotel. Since it's all inclusive, we would hate to "bring our own" - but we both enjoy nice wine and Amy really likes Gin. In addition, it seems like their selection of Tequila (Jose??) is not great for Mexico. Where's the Don Julio? Anyway, we don't mind spending a few extra bucks to have some good drinks in our room. What's the best way to accomplish this? Thanks for any advice!
I hear there's a liquor store right across the street. Of course tequilla should be pretty cheap in Mexico, but I think imports to Mexico will be more expensive. I'm planning a trip to the liquor store when I arrive too.
Take the bus to Walmart. There are a few corner stores around but the prices are ridiculous. I like wine as well and it's pretty bad. Bring your own doller store wine glasses to have outside the restaurants cause it's impossible to get one at PatyOs.
If good booze is an issue for you, book a private airport transfer (USA transfer,, use the link on this page or Cancun tours | Riviera Maya Tours | Airport Transfers - Entertainment Plus - USA TRANSFERS - Cancun Mexico ) Then stop at Walmart on the way to the Hotel ,, saves time and money. I have seen recent updates saying the wine is better now.
Sorry, the wine at TTR is wretched. We agree with everyone else, check wal mart. But before you go, see what the bar has to offer. You may save some money by finding something there that you have never tried before. But the wine still sucks!
Ryan said he heard the wine is better this year. I've been known to tolerate some pretty bad wine and I can assure you the wine at TTR is absolutely undrinkable. I have my fingers crossed that it's better now but that didn't stop me from buying a Bota Box to throw in the suitcase.
The key is to replace quality with quantity. whether it's Don Julio, or Jose Cuervo, becomes a lot less important when you are 12 drinks in and have whipped cream on your privates.
Haha, point taken - and I know the key is to party hard there and we sure will. However I know there will be a few times when my beautiful wife will want to sit on the beach with a nice glass of wine and relax a bit. I know you all may think this is impossible, but I assure you it will happen at least twice ;-) Would we be allowed to bring a bottle or two in our suitcase? Or will they confiscate it at the red/green light if we happen to get chosen?
