The weather was a factor some days, also the time of day. The resort was completely full that weekend we were there, and the pool was packed a lot. I couldn't post those pics - too many boobies showing :aktion034:

    Hey Michael and Shelly,
What a fantastic time we had. Can't wait to go back. What a great story you posted. Thanks for showing the world my ASS! lol. I was told it was a sexy soccer ASS until I saw your second photo. Holy SHIT it's hairy. Sarah has me booked for a wax. Hopefully next year I can afford the other half of the Kilt. Can't wait. See you next year.

    1) Bring a pen with you on the flight. You need to fill out the immigration forms before you land. This makes it easier than trying to borrow one. Also, the immigration forms changed somewhat recently. There are a few parts you probably think you dont need to fill out that you do.

    2) Bring a roll or two of your own toilet paper. Its the little things that count, I think this is one of them.

    3) If you can, bring your favorite pillow. We did this and it did make sleeping better, assuming we didnt pass out in the jacuzzi or something.

    4) I like good booze so I usually buy a bottle duty free on the plane. Not a requirement, but I like good scotch and you really cant find it at TTR.

    5) Check and double check that your cell phone roaming is off or that you have paid for it. The data downloads on smart phones can get crazy expensive if you are not paying attention.

    6) We usually bring $200 in $1 dollar bills. Makes tipping easier.

    7) I have found that the currency exchange at TTR gives you a better rate than at the airport.

    8) The floors in the hallways can get really slippery when it is wet and more so after a few drinks. I bring water shoes with a little extra grip so I dont fall and throw a hoof or break my ankle, or worse, spill my drink.

    9) For basic shopping and getting downtown or to walmart the R1 bus is great. Safe, clean and cheap. I dont think we have taken a taxi since our first trip.

    10) I think it is better to buy stuff in pesos because most stores give you a dollar to peso exchange rate that tends to be very much in their favor (i.e. 10:1 as opposed to 12:1).

    11) Bring extra batteries for your camera. Its no fun paying $10 for new batteries when you probably have a bunch sitting at home collecting dust. Also, clear out your camera memory before you go. Running out of space and having to delete things on vacation kind of sucks.

    12) If you go on the Boobs Cruise and shop at the island, the prices of the same stuff are usually much cheaper downtown in Cancun.

13 Be careful if you buy wine, it could have been sitting in a very hot room and is baked or vinegar when you buy it.

    14) Most of the restaurants at TTR have some really good things they make that are not on the menu. As people you meet if they know of any of these.

Thanks for the trip report, Shelly!

I did LMAO to hear you booked the Drops of Love package! I was supposed to have my virgin TTR trip that same October as yours, so I remember reading your trip report with great interest (and relief that I missed the rainstorms). Hope you managed to avoid the bacon this time lol.

Also LOL at your picture taken before you got the bug bites...Michael's shirt says "bite me" but apparently bugs can't read! Or maybe they just thought it was an open invitation to bite anyone sitting on the chair ;)

Hope to meet you up in Vancouver sometime soon...
