we just came back on Jan 30 there is shade on the beach but more so between the sexy pool and the sports pool no trees in front of sexy pool. There are a few of those awnings with chairs under them but you have to get up early to get them right beside the roped off Premier area
just got back and spent a lot of my time at beach: and there is tons of trees..by the sexy pool but the quiet pool beach there are none... hope this helps.. by the way those who said the beach sucks are wrong! the beach is awesome.. my two bits! Val
The "shades" are called "pallaba's ....umbrella type structure made of wood and palm leaves. From what I understand, the tops dry out quickly and must be replaces often. They can catch fire when too dry and do blow away in strong winds. You will also see netting on some, this is to stop the birds from flying away with pieces for nesting.
Just got back Feb 02 and trees are by the valley ball and hammocks, 1 tree between sexy pool and beach. All the "pallaba's" where gone and replaced with premier beds and roped off. I'd say the beach by the sexy pool is 3/4 Premier ( with no one on the beds ) and 1/4 used by common folk. I understand the premier part of Temptations but it seems when we are there, there is a lot of unused spaced dedicated to premier.
We witnessed the Asian restaurant fire a few years ago. We had just got to the resort & were having drinks on the beach trying to catch the late afternoon sun when suddenly the roof caught on fire. :icon_eek:
