Can't agree more right there. In September we watched a guy drunk as hell get into a fight with his girlfriend, then dive head first into one of the jacuzzi's at the sexy pool... Then he didn't surface.. We went over there to see what happened, and luckily he was just holding himself under water to make people think he was drowning. And the buddy system for the bathroom is also a good idea...
it always sad to have someone pass away, but at lest they went happy and haveing fun. well my 1st aid/CPR/AED is expired but i still remember how too...but now a days u might get sued for helping.
Just remember the flip side of that law is that if you are trained you are pretty much obligated to try to help as well if you are trained (as I am, the joys of being employed in a field position in the oil industry in Alberta). Granted I have never heard of anyone being prosecuted for not helping but it can happen.
The states do also. I am certified in cpr, aed and lifegaurd. The states have also a 2 fold rule. If the the person is concious you need their consent, but if the loose conciousness you are helping under the presumed consent laws and do not need a family members consent to help.
Well, to lighten the tone a little... When we were there in 2011, I witnessed a large back woman tear her ACL and probably her medial meniscus while dancing in a large group on the slippery sexy pool deck! It was actually pretty funny. The staff was right there with a giant bag of ice though. I saw it coming and called it! Since I'm a Physical Therapist, Lisa asked if I wanted to go over and Evaluate her... I said "Nope. I'm on vacation!"
same thing happened to the wife on that wet dance floor... She busted ass HARD... Luckily she was so drunk she didn't injure herself.
No the law is you can't just stop once you've started assisting someone(until first responders show up). But u do not have to at all if you dont want to or can't for some reason.
Apparently today is point out all the embarrassing moments your wife had at TTR day... :icon_redface:
