Yes as fans we are going to see a lot of hockey in a small amount of time! Just so tired of the selfish people fighting over money! What about the people behind the scenes that were out of work! Just makes me sick!
The schedule is insane, and there should be a huge advantage to teams with a lot of depth, and those that are young. Having four home games in a week will be tough on fans that go to games. A 40 game schedule would have been a better choice. My Blues have failed in every season since 66. Maybe a 48 game schedule will be answer:icon_biggrin:!
The one very positive note, at least for those teams in the East is the lack of long distance travel. That might help the fatigue factor, but it is still a lot of games in a very short period of time. Hey, look on the bright side. Here it is Mid-January and all of our teams are tied for first place!
Good point about it being Mid-January, and everyone still in the hunt. Have the teams in the East picked up much in order to be more competitive with the West this year. You had to earn a lot of points in 2011-2012 in the West in order to make the top 8.
Bart, it is going to be so hard to guess how the two conferences will stack up against each other because we don't have the cross over like we are used to. I don't see either side being more dominant but who knows. I would guess that with the compacted season that the teams with the youngest legs and the most depth will have the biggest advantage. Ed
My Wings aren't looking very good so far! But a couple of home games coming up, maybe they will show some life @ home.
The Wings are definitely hurting so far. It will be a few weeks before the real teams show up and the pretenders start to slide down the standings. I'm hoping that the real teams includes the Sabres. Miller looks like he's on top of his game so far. This year he's even got a team in front of him that will protect him.
Could be a real good yr for the Sabres and Wild! Can't believe the Wings defense right now to many guys I never heard of playing!!!!!
Don't forget the Blues! It is crazy to see some of the Blues castoffs playing so many places this year. You will like Colaiacovo if he can get and stay healthy.
Bruins 2-1 looking solid....almost the same team as last year except Bourque's midget kid so we are looking good.
