a false sense of power? post a sign in your yard saying that your house is a gun free house, have your neighbor post one in his yard saying his house is protected by firearms.which house do you think a person with bad intent is going to go into first? and which person in that situation is going to feel they have the power and control ?you with out a gun, or your neighbor with one? the 2ND amendment isnt about hunting,

 

Glad to see we can all agree to disagree and I too have a freezer full of snowballs just waiting for the party to get started.

 

Banning or the use of excess laws for one to protect his or her rights Inables govt to control mass epidemic out breaks which I do strongly believe will happen In a matter of time.

Govts want to dethrone us (THE WORLD) of our rights , It makes It easier for them to de-populate and have control.

Seriously, as you said, it comes around every once in a while and both sides think they have the absolutely best answer. But we're ALL wrong. There is no absolutely best answer.


So going forward I'm going to try really hard not to respond any post or thread about politics, religion, or gun control on here. You all are too good of friends for me to lose over something we are never going to solve on this Board.

I have actuall scripts where I chat with a member of a secret society group and he explains the whole thesis plot and iorny of there goal , It goes beyond our Imagination.

Were puppets , We actually help them with our choices hence elections and etc...

(IE) OBAMA VS ROM....That was a given message , As well as how they used the people for what they (GOVT) dont have.. money..

The money from all those adds and etc that were generated where did It end up and In whos hands..

Dah its too late,, the only safe thing to do is go and buy the meanest biggest kick ass gun you can find to defend yourself against the mentally ill gun weilding crazies out there.

 

While in its strictest interpretation, that may be correct - it is intellectually dishonest. People don't need guns to hurt other people, but some people DO need guns, specifically handguns, to defend themselves. Emergency response time averages slightly longer than 10 minutes in the U.S. and I think it's about that or slightly higher in Canada & the U.K. (no idea about the European nations.)

Thing is, it only takes a few seconds, literally, for a home invader to break into a home, wield a weapon or none at all, and rape, kill, steal, burn. An assailant can be in and gone before the peace officers are even responding. A means of self-protection is important to have, and for some people that choice, their best choice, is a handgun.

I've been reading for decades now about gun control, and it, in some form or another, is spreading through the U.S.'s major metropolitan areas. The odd thing is, in those areas with gun control, they seem to have more, not less, acts of criminally related (not necessary family-related) acts of agressive violence, i.e. predators take advantage. The bad guys still can get and have, guns, illegally. I doubt that will ever be controlled. In the areas which still lack this supposed gun "control," meaning places where individual citizens can keep and bear arms (such as handguns with a concealed-carry permit), the incidence of gun-related physical violence is dramatically lower, and general violence is also lower. I have always found that interesting.

I don't own a gun, don't want one, and sort of am scared of them personally. I have dogs (Lab and Mastiff). I do, however, understand why some folks want a gun to protect themselves and/or their family, etc.

 

I do believe that the problem isn't the gun itself, however.........
