We go for 14 days as its only a couple of hundred for the difference, for us both, between 7 and 14. And the long flight,, you dont mind unwinding for a day after getting there. Main problem with 14 is all the eating and drinking kills the sensible eating diet. Takes a month of starvation to get back to fit. ( well,, fittish )
We would love to do longer than 7 but we are lucky to get that with a 7, 5 and 1 year old. Love them but have been waken up at least once a night for about 3 weeks straight and never needed a trip more. I think we could definitely handle 14 dats.
We used to do 2 or 3 weeks twice a year when we were in the UK. You couldnt book 3 weeks then, but we often changed our flight once there. When we finally moved to Cancun I think we did 5 weeks at the hotel while we looked for a place to live, we weren't in too much of a hurry No way we could do a week or more now that we live here (older and kids). Our ideal would probably be 3 or 4 days, but we normally manage only 1 or 2 days at once around 6 times a year. Strange that now we live 10 minutes away we spend less time there than when we lived 5000 miles away.
We did 8 days for our first trip last year. thinking about 9 days this year. Can't do much more cause Kim does't get that much vacation time.
We're doing 11 nights this year. 7 nights is too short after factoring in the long flights from the UK. We did 14 nights last year which was great but the booze and partying started to take it's toll on about day 12 (we must be lightweights!). :icon_lol:
