We land in Cancun at 1:40pm on the 22nd. Just wondering if anybody can give us an estimate on when we might get to the resort. We are also using USA Transfers from the airport. Any chance we get to the sexy pool before everyone goes for their power nap?
Great question! I was wondering the exact same thing. I've been to Cancun before and got thru & out of the airport pretty quickly but once I got out I can't really say I remember the trip to where we stayed that time.
How long it takes you to get through immigration and customs is like asking how long is a piece of string. We've sailed through in the past, other times we've been stood in a sweaty queue for what seems like hours. However the good news is, Temptatation is pretty close, I'd say 20-30 mins. You have a good chance of making the Sexy Pool. Have fun! :daisy:
I'd say, plan on about 90 minutes to get your bags, get through Customs and get to the resort. Of course that also depends on how long you have to wait for your transport and how many stops it has to make. Can always buy beer outside the airport though. Once you are at the resort figure on another 1/2 hr - 45 min to get checked in and to your room, again depending on how many are checking in at that time. So the pool itself might be winding down but there should still be people at the swim up bar (both wet and dry side). If not...most people will be in PATYO's after about 9.
You arrive at a good time. Should be at the resort within 2 hours. Last few time there they were only using 1 xray machine to scan incoming luggage. If 2 planes land at the same time,, look out. A lot of eastern planes charters land 11 to 12 range,, bad time
In the past using USA Transfers, we have only waited 10 minutes at the most for our vehicle. The drive to the resort is normally 30-35 minutes depending on traffic. As for check-in, last year we did the advanced check-in on the resort website so it only took 10-15 minutes tops. However you do need to let them know that you are a repeat customer to avoid the "sales pitch/tour of the property" or you could be tied up for 45-90 minutes as they try to sell you on the premier member package.

We were there a couple of weeks ago, we used USA Transfers and we were at the resort , checked in and at the pool in 1 1/2 hours. Smoth as AIWC
Donald is right, it's all about how many planes land at the same time as yours. I've breezed thru customs in 20 minutes on a Saturday afternoon at 1:30, and I've stood there for 90 minutes at 10:30 at night on a Monday. Getting thru the customs line-up is only the first step. Then you get your bags and have to get in another, often equally-long, line-up to have your bag x-rayed and punch the dreaded hot-button to see if you get the privilege of having security rifle thru your unmentionables. All you can do is relax and daydream about how you'll have a drink in your anxious little fist just as soon as the airport gods will allow. How awesome would it be if you could clear Mexican customs as you board your plane to Cancun?! You end up hanging around the airport doing nothing while waiting for your flight anyway. I'd love to just grab my bag and GO as soon as I touch down.
