Hey guys.. So my sister and I are heading to cancun from scotland UK for our first spring break experience the first week in march and are totally clueleSs? Hoping u can help me out with a few Q's. 1. Does it matter where u stay? We were thinking of getting a cheaper hotel just to keep the cost down and wondered if this would effect us? I.e. can we still access oasis etc for the beach parties and stuff and if so how expensive is that looking? 2. How do things work through the day? Are there events u can go pay admission for with open bars etc or is it more just beach things? 3. Is the booze cruise worth going on? Roughly what's the cost? And can u pay on the day or is there reps along the beach and stuff? 4. Is it worth getting a VIP party package at night? I hear after dark etc are great but can anyone recommend the best way to do this? Is it better booking in advance or can I do this when I'm there? 5. For a 7 day stay what would u recommend as spending money? Honestly guys any help is much appreciated from these bonny lassies Cheers xxx
ill try help by answering the questions i can but you'll get better people answering also. 1. this will b the 4th time ive been to cancun and ive never stayed at 1 of the major party hotels but ive always had a great time hence why ive kept coming back so for me no i dont think it does matter. you can still access the oasis beach parties and you can do that for free....the beaches cost nothing to go on, its only when u want to use the oasis facilities that you have to buy a day pass (not sure on prices of them) 2. ive always chilled out or done an excursions through the day but this yr would like to find day parties also so ill be keeping an eye on this aswell. 3. you hotel will probs b able to help with that if not there are various ticket desks around cancun ~(not sure which is best) 4. never done that myself but from what ive read on here recently yes it is a good thing to do and am planning on doing that aswell 5. depends on if ur wanting to do excursions and go out every night, i take about $150 for a day but some people think thats to much others think its to little all depends on what you want to do
Welcome to the Boards :daveandmo: 1.) Dont worry, its SPRING BREAK, there will be breakers everywhere. Its just a question about how insane and rowdy your hotel will be. In a regular hotel expect a lot of youngs folks having a good time with some fun OVER to 24/7 Party and Insanity around the Clock if you stay in one of the Major Party Hotels. I did Oasis a couple of times, and esp when you are staying more than one week, it might get tooo much sometimes :-D So where ever you will stay, expect it to be a FUN time :-D 2.) There will be probably 2 Stages this year. One at Oasis for sure, with silly games, DJs, Celebrities and Stuff, as well at Krystal. Both are locate don the Beach and are FREE to attend. IF you wanna use the facilities at the Hotels just buy a daypass. Or be a smarty an bring a big cooler and your own drinks. 3.) For tours: Best to check with your Hotel if you dont wanna walk around the Hotel Zone. Although the Tour booths NOT located inside the Hotels tend to be cheaper, as they dont have to pay rent to the Hotels. Daytime activities like Jetskis, Parasailing and Stuff i would def go with the Hotel, but for Excursions that go a whole day i would def look somewhere else. Also think that most excursions start in the morning. So book a day in advance. Also take a look at Entertainment Plus, a very reliable tour company run by a Canadian Couple in Cancun. (They never let me down the past 7 years) 4.) ABSOLUTLY! Just choose it carefully. Regular Party Packages include Open Bar only, (means clogged up bars with watered down drinks) and that you are tied to a fixed schedule of consecutive nights. Check out this party package here: http://www.cancuncare.com/forum/cancun-spring-break/25627-best-vip-party-packages-cancun.html Always VIP Area, always own tables, always Bottles, no Schedule. (you can use a 5 nights package over a whole wee for example) 5.) Depends on your Hotel. AI eliminates most of your food and drinking needs IF you stay in the Hotel on Daytime. If you are more into wqandering the beach, going on excursions and activities: There are really inexpensive bars, restaurants in the Hotel Zone. I Only Say : SURFING BURRITO across Senor Frogs :-D For a non-AI-Hotel i would calc in around 30USD per day for meals and drinks. Add another 45USD for going out per Night (with a party package) or around 50-60 if you go without one. Plus Excursions, Activities. Transportation in the Hotel Zone are inexpensive. Busses (safe , fun and fast) run around the Clock for a Cheap 8,5 pesos :-D Hope that covered all your questions, if you got some more in your mind shoot me a message here or on Facebook. Cheers, Nico
Hi, I´m mexican and I´ve been to Spring Break 2010 & 2011.. I´m also going on 2013 from march 5th to 11th.. we´re 4 guys (24 - 26 yrs old). Hope I can help you: 1) Party during the day happens at the hotels.. You can tru to access Oasis Cancun buying a one day pass which costs around 25 USD but they are really hard to find because the hotel is completely full but in MExico you can always find a way so maybe you can tell them you want to go to reception for some info and that way you can go to the beach (in that case you´ll not have access to the restaurantes but you can still have a good time at the beach . At the same time, in my experience, the best time is at night in the nightclubs 2) Oasis Cancun has events on the hotel and beach. I´ve heard Krystal as well but Im not sure 3) Ive never been to the booze cruise because i always buy the party tickets at the hotel and the guys from the agencies always recommend better the clubs and trust me they are wild! I recommend you to buy the tickets at the main hotels, there are a few agencies I can recommend you.. 4) You can buy the tickets over there. The Party hopper is great! Basico club, Daddy O´, Mardi gras wednesdays at Patt o´brians and señor frogs are great!! 5) the night clubs cost around 50 USD, the transportation is extremely cheap. The night clubs have open bar. As a mexican I usually give 10 USD to the barman and they give me whatever I want If you need anything else just tell me
1) Daypasses to Oasis doubled from 2011 to 2012 from 25USD to 50USD. Not really worth the cheap food / booze you can get with it. Daypasses are limited in quantity and restrict you to 2 Buffet- Restaurants and a Pool/Beach Bar 4) The so called Bar/Club-Crawls are not bad if you dont know what Clubs to go to in Cancun. Just remember you will only have a very limited amount of time in each Club, and then will be herded to the next one. (Probably the time when you started to enjoy the location) - Pat O Briens and Basic dont exist since 2011 anymore. Basically are Clubs are now concentrated in the Party Center. All in viewing and walking distance. Just grab a bus
Hey, I can't help with your questions but I'm going to travel there from London on my own from the 23rd March (Just in time for Easter this year) If you change your dates at all feel free to consider me as an add on as I'm clueless about where I am going to book etc... lol Thanks!
A couple of hotels offer double-as-single. Of course its quite more expensive then sharing a room. Maybe a studio in the hotelzone will do it for you. They go for around 90 usd per night. Walking distance to the clubs, direct on the beach. Might be the cheapest option. I am staying in one aswell, as i am there for 5 weeks. Hit me up if you need more infos.
