There's the thread-start; how to train to get in shape for Sun, Fun & Sin... We do that stuff for a livin so it would be great to hear what everyone else is doin 'cuz truth be told, workin out to get in shape for anything when it's your profession can be about as much FUN as a CPA saving $$$ to afford their trip to TTR or an Attorney filing motions to make it possible for them to travel(right Karen?)...DAMN that was wordy! So what's the strategy?!?
:aktion060: Personally, I bulked up over the holidays - went from 199 to 213. Basically eating everything I could and lifted heavy weights. Now that I am 90 days out, I started p90x on Monday. I am looking to get down to 205, and as soon as do, phase out the cardio, and lower my rep range again with the weights. I see this happening about 2-3 weeks before vacation. I have to keep shifting my routine to see results. Plus I have a fast metabolism and if I get too latched on to the weight loss train its hard to get off. My diet right now is low carbs high protein during the week, (6 meals a day) cheat on weekends. Once we get closer, the cheating is out. I like using p90x to cut because I got a little guy at home, and my wife and I work out at 5 am. This way she can go to the gym when I'm training.

Normally I would merely Drink my ass off until about two weeks out, and then curse myself for being out of shape but have a blast all the same. This winter I am taking a different approach. 1. No Drinking until the trip. Odds are that will make me alot crazier while at Temptation, and I am pretty damn crazy to begin with, so get ready. Consider yourself warned... 2. No Bacon until the trip. I love it, so I may end up on a bacon Binge while at Temptation, so that should be interesting 3. I have drafted Big SexyX, and while that could also be a Vivid pictures title :mnm:, in this case it is a cardio heavy, weight included, ramped workout program, which steps up cardio ten minutes every two weeks, with 45 minutes of weights, four times weekly, ending at 2 hours cardio each workout and 45 minutes of weight just before we leave. I am not a big proponent of major workouts, but I am going to give this a go, I am a week in and haven't stopped yet so that is a good sign, LOL. Odds are that while I wont be in the shape I want to be by the April trip, I will be well on my way. I do have a rep to maintain though, So I am not going to eliminate all of Big Sexy just yet... hahahah:aktion060:
P90X is awesome; used to work with/for the Trainer who designed the nutrition program for Tony Horton & P90x (Mark Sisson). He has a great website Mark's Daily Apple. Kinda' Paleo/hardcore but a healthy way to get lean. Kudo's to all of You/Us (yes esp U BigSexxy) who sweat & strain now so we can Lounge & Libate (hope that's a verb) Later. Great stuff! Glad too see all the dedication on this board! On a side note, anyone ever rent their own yacht at TTR? It's like 500 for 3 or 4 hours. You get a captain and bartender. We got one last time we were there and it worth every penny. You can get 10 or so on it. It was the highlight of our trip!
we have a friend that is a premier member and he can get it as part of his package at a great rate.. we are hoping to convince him to rent it in April..
Damn... I didn't realize you had to be a premier member to get the deal. We were invited on the yacht last time by a premier member and it was amazing! Probably the most fun I've ever had, we had a fantastic group!
I'm not sure if you can rent it without being a premier member or not..I suppose that anything is possible for a price.. lol
