    Hello Everyone,

I am planning a group trip to Cancun in June and we will be staying at the GP. I know it will be hot and ive been looking at a lot of pictures, but I cant seem to get a good idea of what the style of dress is. From what I understand, its not a stuffy resort by any means, but what is the norm in the evenings at dinner? Evenings by the Tiki Bar? Trying to put together a checklist for all my guests and don't want anyone to over pack!

    Thanks!

    Val

Good questions Val! I too am interested in this answer. I am a doll up kinda gal. Love getting dressed up. Wonder if I will be out of place for dinner. And we are going in April so it may be colder at night there so I dont even know if I should pack jeans or what.

always pack a light sweater. even in march sometimes at night the breeze is a bit much. If you plan on going to Isla Mujeres at all definitely bring a little hoody. The ride back from the island to cancun is FREEZING at night time. (Isla also sells little lightweight jackets that a lot of us wore at the tiki bar and on the ferry).

I will dig up some old photos and post them for you so that you can get an idea :)

LOL This pic cracks me up. This was taken on my birthday and I was completely wasted after the Boobs Cruise. Note to self: Don't to dramatic make up when hammered. I look like a crackwhore lol. Anyway this is my attire to Shangri-La.

It doesn't matter what you wear you will fit right in! you have the people that wear jeans and a collared shirt and then the people that wear a beautiful short dress with stilettos. There are jeans, shorts, capris, bermudas, flats, heels, big heels, sandals, cargo shorts, graphic tees, plain tees, button up dress shirts, etc.

I guess if I must bring a light weight jacket I will. Just hoping its not too chilly to wear heels and short dress to diner. Can throw on something casual for the tiki bar afterwards. Hot tub open all night? Is the water warm enough to sit in and not be cold at night? Have heard some hotels hot tubs arent exactly hot. On that note, are drinks allowed in the hot tub? Sure can picture myself relaxing in the hot tub drink in hand at midnight. I want to go NOW!

We are going in June though....will it be cold at night and on the boat rides then? We are more swimsuits all day type...shorts and tank tops to head out. Hoping to leave the jeans and sweaters at home! =)

    AND LOVE THE PICS HAMMIEJ!!!!!

Thanks! <3 No worries ladies!!! It is only chilly on certain nights. If we were home we would think it was hot.... but because we get used to the heat it seems chilly. You'll be fine walking to dinner in a dress in heels. If you are drinking it heats your body up anyway, haha.

The hot tub: More like a "warm" tub lol. They do serve drinks there during the day via poolside waitstaff, and at night you can get your drink a few steps over at the tiki bar and sip them in there. I believe the hotels policy says the pool closes at 10? I forget the exact time. Anyway, I've seen people taking a quick dive in. I've never seen a security guard kick them out... but the guards do kinda patrol the pool area as part of their "rounds". I don't think they kick you out of the hot tub though.... I've just seen SOOO many people in there some nights that I just can't imagine them doing that. Of course if you are having some quiet fun they will never know you are in there! lol :)

I believe even on the warmest nights.... you'll want a light sweater or heavy towel for the ferry ride. The Boobs Cruise requires no sweater since you are returning while there is still sunlight. Now, if you really really don't want to pack a light sweater, you can ride inside of the ferry boat. You don't have to ride on top. I just think the ride on top is better and just adds to the allure of my vacation :) It makes you appreciate such a beautiful place! :)

SouthernMiss i'm the same way!! I like to pack the smallest stuff possible... especially because it makes my suitcase lighter ;)

I'm actually SUCH an anal packer that when it comes a little bit closer I will literally take a picture of all of my tops/bottoms to help me pick out outifts :)
I'll post some if you guys wanna see what I'm packing when that time comes!
