We are thinking of doing this excursion at some point while we are there between Jan 23-30. We have looked at many others and think this one would be kind cool to do. Being January would the waters in the caves be very cold. Has anyone ever done this excursion before? Anyone have any suggestions on it?

It is nice to break away and do something other than drink. Last Jan we did one of the hotel excursions where we zip lined, did the cave swim, rappelled, toured some ruins, etc. It was a lot of fun, but did take pretty much most of the day.

Regarding temps, the water seemed fine at the time and the air temp was perfect that day.

    Have fun!

Thanks for the insight, there are a few excursion that go into the caves, this one you get to drive something like a two person ATV that looks like a jeep, zipline, swim in the caves and going on some raft. They mention of hot chocolate after the swim which really concerned me that the water temps were cold. lol

We went to xplor shortly after it opened in 2009. It was alot of fun. However, I will say that we grew tired of the ziplines after 6 or so. The underwater caves were fun and werent too cold (November). We really enjoyed the amphibius type vehicle that you get to drive. All in all it was a good time. That is third on my list of funnest things with scuba diving number one and xcaret number 2.

Just to ask someone who has previously been to Xplor, is a driving licence required for the jeeps? Thanks

We have been to X-Plore twice, both times in late Jan early Feb 2011 & 2012. The cave swim was a bit chilly but no problem once you get in. We obviously had a great time because we went back LOL. It's great fun posing in silly ways for the cameras that are everywhere. The lunch is fantastic. We suggest doing the caves and buggy first as the Zip lines are crowded when you first get to the park but the lines shorten greatly from noon on. Have fun!! PM if you want more details

Not really. we just did it last week and no driver license is required. This is requires very basic driving skills.

Have waterproof camera. have waterproof sandles , don't buy it from there , as its completely rip off 30$ for wet shoes which is of hardly 5$.

if you are planning Scuba, please plan it 2-3 days ahead and make reservation.
