Salsa & Bachata Clubs in Cancun

Staying at the Riu Palace Las Americas the week of Christmas....any salsa and bachata clubs around the area?

 

You will certainly want to go to the club next door to the Dreams Resort called Azucar. This is only a short walk, approximately a 1/2 Kilometer stroll away from your resort. As far as clubs in the Centro (Downtown) tourist areas, I will leave that to the local experts to make recommendations... have fun plannin' your dancin'!!!

I thought Azucar had closed a while back, has it re-opened? Best bet is Mambo Cafe downtown.

 

I'm headed to Cancun in a couple of weeks, definitely felt this thread was bumpworth. I'm a bachata fiend, and would like to know what spots are hot now.

Azucar closed,we also love salsa.Last year with all the bad vibes of kidnapping and the gang activities we stayed at the resorts.But this year we might hit Mambo Cafe,we went there 2 yrs ago.And i know there is 1 more because we went to it about 4 yrs ago just cannot remember it.My advise is use a cab from your resort and try to see if he will pick you up.

 

We thought Mambo Cafe in Plaza Hong Kong is now a jazz club,
or are we mixed up? Is Mambo on the upper level in the corner?
