As I understand as well, a lot of rooms that are classed as ocean view are those sort of ones you have to stretch right over the balcony before you can see a tiny strip of blue. The garden rooms are just as good, only ones I wouldn't recommend are those facing the road!
It matters not unless you get a good suite for the most part. What are you doing there? Sleeping, Shitting, Showering, Fucking.... So what 3-4 hours a day tops? muahahhaha
A vacation at TTR is not about having an ocean view room, I don't think that would make any difference at all. The Temptation Suites are nice with the view, but WAY over priced for the quality and the ROI is not worth it, in my opinion. Other resorts can have a very high ROI when it comes to those upgrades, and are worth it - not really the case at TTR. Better to spend the money you save by booking the regular room on stuff you want to do while in Cancun, like jet skis, tours, and the Boobs Cruise
Have a Premier member book a room for you. We usually stay in one of the top floor rooms that over look the Sexy Pool and the beach.
For a true "OCean View" room, you almost have to upgrade all the way up to the Temptation Suites. Not really worth it, since if you want to see the ocean, just go down to the beach, IMO.
