150 rooms off the market - we enjoyed Cabos and while we were there the resort was at 95 -100% capacity. Most from the west coast (California, Nevada, Seattle, Arizona, BC, Alberta) due to the short flight time. We'd say much comes from the improved economy and a lot of folks who held off on vacationing for a few years are finally looking to get away.
When we were there early December. There was 6 couples that we saw in cabo the year before , same week. Who would have all been in cabo instead. That's just one week , so I would imagine that's happening every week as well.
I was told that they (TTR) sold the cabo one to Desire, they are different companies as far as I know but affiliated??? or just the same company shifting resorts around.... Anyway..... They were going to purchase a more high end one as a new TTR location for 2014. But its all rumor of course. When we were in Cabo in Feb 2012, it was a Temptations, and they were renovating the wholly bejepers out of it. If I stayed that week I would have been angry. We were 2-3 resorts down at Hola Grand Faro. Guess we will have to see what happens in the next year or two.
Temptation Cancun, Sea Adventure. Desire Riviera Maya, Pearl and Los Cabos resorts as well as two other small places in Play del Carmen are all owned and operated by Original Resorts, a family owned Mexican corporation. As far as I've heard, Original Resorts is not planning on adding any new properties in the near future.
Just curious, but didn't realize you could check in with TTR online. We just got our invite from Delta for our online checkin. That always puts us in a good mood!!! Even the horrors of the new and improved (YEAH, RIGHT) Atlanta International Terminal can't put a damper on that.
Boston mel and jfbr1: don't know if you have checked, but on dENNYP'S Hedo site. They are saying that Hedo has closed!!! Not really sure if its just the Website or the Whole resort. Denny left some very strange message, not really sure what he means. He mentioned somethings about upgrades to the resort. Stay TUNED for the lastest. Last offical word was that Superclubs was selling Hedo to a group !!! We'll see
Hedo is sold to Marshmallow ltd. Basically some of the Fluffenutters bought it, along with Kevin Levy. They are doing some remodeling but are staying Hedo. I think it will be a great thing. We shall see. Hedo needed lots of updating and love.
Hedo Yes, one of the members of this group is the Issa family from Superclubs. I suppose they are letting their partners fund most of the improvements at Hedo . Not sure what this is going to do to the Breezes/Hedo walk thru agreement. And It was nice getting a day pass. Biggest reason we went to TTR was the sad state of affairs with the staff at BGN. we really like Gloria (security) and PAtrica (bartender) . They have no idea if they will have a job next week or not. I LOVE to get on the Jamaica Forums (TA) are argue with the Couples folks about the privacy of Couples Negrils NUDE BEACH.
I think high occupancy is the norm for TTR during the end-year months. And in April and May. We're trying to get June-July the same way...
