The following is a search for cheapest prices for same dates from Feb 15, 2013 to March 1, 2013. Flight, TTR Hotel with All Inclusive and Travel Ins for 3 people. What a difference from site to site. Expedia seems to be the cheapest this time round. Food for thought to compare numbers with exact same dates. Something to note also, we find it actually cheaper to bring along a 3rd person, for whatever reason, when you add a 3rd person to your trip, you will save an average of $200 overall

    Expedia $6591.08

    iTravel200.com is $6902.76

    Redtag.ca is $7472.76

selloffvacations.com (which we normally use) is $7619.76

flightcentre.ca (where we book through after checking selloff) is $8012.76

    sunwing.ca is $8526.00

My brain is addled with years of alchohol abuse. When I battle a car salesman I prepare to lose, I measure my success by how much.
Is it possible to have an equation for comparison? Say, based on 7 days inc/not airfare? I realize starting points will influence specifics, but airfare averaged over 10 days vs 7, vs room type.

We usually use the apple vacations direct website. They wanted $1189 per person with direct flight for 6 nights. We found godreamvacations.com and they wanted $1159 per person for 7 nights. And everything is still through Apple, so we went with that.

I'll write this out as I think about it and add at the bottom.....

So, we're reserved next time for Feb. 15-18, so that's 3 nights during the high season, so it's like ~$60-ish per person for members, I think my total for that invoice was $403.60?

Flight to CUN from IAH we got on points from the Chase MC we have, so that was only $63 per person (that's all taxes folks. Mexico has something like a total of $40 in taxes on us when we visit, in the flight taxes, $20 each, arriving and departing. Interesting set-up. I never would've noticed if I wasn't playing around and using our airline miles). So, that's $126-ish.

We're going to try TTR's own transport service this time, I think it's $50? Might be $60? Not sure.

So, that's 403, plus 120 and the change is $529, and the transport and I'll be optomistic for the $50, so it's right around $580 for 2 of us for 3 nights, or $270 each, or $90/day with flights.

Granted, we pump nearly every dollar we spend through both our lives of money-spending that we can through those to MC cards, so I'm not positive about the "rate of return" for our use, but still, free is, after all, free.
